Bob our waiter was amazing. Alec was awesome as well. There was a buzzer in our area and he was also very kind and they worked so hard together. They got in bused tables as a team. The host was super polite. Food was great. Margaritas were yummy and plenty of alcohol. The manager or owner on Cinco De Mayo was also very good and kind. They managed so well for such a big crowd and busy day. I was amazed with how polite everyone was with such a busy day. I always enjoy the food and service.
This was my second time coming to Ponaks. We showed up around 2 o clock and ordered half pitcher margaritas. The salsa is so good and spicy! Our bartender was very friendly and funny! He convinced us to stay until Happy Hour started :)Will be coming back to try more food off the menu!
Food was great! Served hot and pretty fast. Prices were good. Portion sizes were excellent plus hot fresh chips and salsa were replenished when low. Service was super good:wait staff was outstanding!(Parking may be a challenge so you may want to avoid peak times or Uber if you can.)

We love Ponak's. The food is great, the service is perfect, and the atmosphere is the best. Love the people watching especially when there's a good game on TV. This is the home of the Kansas City spirit. Everyone is just so friendly and I really love the artwork and the industrial neighborhood adds to the excitement. I really feel like I'm downtown.
Family favorite that's never disappointed! Great service and accommodating for our group of 12. Best margaritas ever... watch out they'll sneak up on you! Sonoran Tacos are the best I've had and loaded with shredded beef. My husband loves the combo pollo platter.
Oh gosh, THE FOOD and Drinks ARE AMAZING‼️ THE atmosphere is incredible, the place is always packed but, they have the BEST SERVICE EVERThey have the best service!so amazing they bring chips and salsa at your table the minute you get set down, then immediately they take your drink ordersRight after that, the server takes your orderYour perfect food is served with in a few minutes~ no jokeThey can move tables and chairs together to accommodate 10 OR MORE people, I saw them do it two timesOne group was 12 to 13 and the other was 8 to 10... they were served just like it was a small group!! I go to Ponak’s Mexican Kitchen & Bar all the time with friends and family. It has a rich Kansas City history and Boulevard Brewing Company, just down the street, sold their first keg here. Go for the Margaritas, which are strong, stay for the great local Mexican food. Family friendly atmosphere. Usually there is a bit of a wait, but I have come to expect this because everyone else in KC likes this place as much as I do.
