Tasty bbq downtown. I have tried a few dishes but always keep coming back for the bbq nachos.
Bit of a brisket guy, so I was disappointed to get their brisket sandwich and find it rubbery and undercooked. Couple more hours in the smoker or oven would have had a much better outcome for me. Also one hell of a presentation! NOT!Not worth the $15....
Amazing barbeque, delicious variety of sauces, and quick service. I've heard about Kansas barbeque and was excited to try it after work. I ordered the pulled pork bbq and ribs with a side of green beans, and it tasted amazing. The pulled pork was moist and flavorful. The ribs had that signature dry rub taste that was amazing. And the green beans were probably the best green beans I've ever had. I loved how they offer a variety of great tasting sauces to compliment the meat. I also loved how the service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend and can't wait for seconds.
The burnt ends were amazing! Perfectly soft, tender, and seasoned. I grabbed 180 sauce by the register and wish I'd have grabbed a whole bottle! At first it was sweet, followed by sour, and finished up with a perfectly mild hint of heat. It was so perfect for me! Will be back!
Stopped in here for lunch on a Friday. Not busy at all. Ordered brisket and sausage and was very disappointed in the brisket. It was thinly sliced and rubbery and lacked flavor. I ordered cheese corn and Mac and cheese and they took canned corn, threw some cheese sauce on it when they dish it up. Not what I was expecting. My wife had chicken and pulled pork and didn’t even eat a second bite. While it was soaking in a liquid, it was dry by the time we got to our table. I have this place a 2 star because the ribs were pretty tasty.
The quality has died altogether compared to 4 years ago. Plowboys can stop blaming the pandemic for going out of business since their brisket soaks in juice and is well done and dried up before it hits the bun. Not to mention you only get 2 1/2 slices of brisket for $10 before tax… they say they have chopped brisket, but they know and I know that it’s just the dried up recycled and reheated crumbles of the brisket from the day before. The sauce can’t even fix it! Super disappointing and an insult to Plowboys’ former self. I hope nobody from out of town comes here and actually decides to eat here.
Staff was outstanding! Very friendly and helpful. Helped us by explaining different menu options. We’ve had great BBQ in Kansas City, Plowboys is as good as any of the highly publicized Q joints in KC. Excellent burnt ends, sausage and sides.
This was a great find during our time in KC! Friendly staff and the food was excellent. Truly authentic KC barbecue. I recommend the burnt ends and cheesy potatoes.

Came from Michigan for some good BBQ and Plowboys definitely delivered. Baked Beans and Mac n Cheese were the best with the tastiest burnt ends!
