Dive Bar Chicken Wings

The best wings around and great service when they're not slammed. So the wings are as good as ever regardless of the change in time. The wings are my favorite but the chicken nachos are hard to beat.

This is NOT fast food. The wings are full size and meaty. Takes about 20 extra minutes for wings Service is slow but there were only 2 guys working the floor. My only complaint would be there are only 2 flavors available Buffalo or plain.

Everyone raves about their wings, but I always go for their BLT with an egg and cheese fries. The cheese fries are drool worthy! Service is slow, but it’s a thing that like all locals know when going here, it’s a vibe inside and just hangout. We always get a few pitchers and bring some cards and hangout. Great local bar with the best food!

I loved it a lot! The wings are obviously great, but I also loved the fries, which is usually a difficult get from me. I ordered onion rings too, which were good but unnecessary since the fries were so good. The cook, by the way, was the nicest guy and very efficient. Prepare to wait for your wings, though, because everyone's ordering them there lol

Have a comparison to The Peanut in North KC.The Peanut in North KC:Was very happy with the one in north KC. The Food was good and came in a reasonable time. They told me 20 minute prep time for the wings and it was right on the dot when it came out to me. The wings lived up to the hype I had heard about them. They also use housemade ranch/blue cheese. My draft beer was served in a glass. The place was clean and comfortable. The Peanut on main:Walked in and all the empty tables hadn't been bussed so I had to sit at the bar. The bar smelled like someone had recently vomited where I was sitting( literally no where else to sit). Took about 40 minutes to bring out the wings. The wings were okay, but not on the same level as the North KC location. Tasted like they bulk pre made salad ranch for the wings. Pretty sure it was hidden valley ranch (which I personally do not like). My draff beer was served to me in a plastic cup, and sure didn't taste like the beer that I ordered. In conclusion, if you want The Peanut to live up to the hype that's spread around about it, avoid this particular location and drive the extra 15 minutes to the north town location (a lot easier to park there too). Haven't tried the other locations yet so I can't give any comparison to them yet.

We love coming to the peanut and have came on many occasions but today was a horrible experience and we won’t be back. My husband and I came in for lunch with our 1 year old. After waiting 40 minutes for food (which wasn’t the issue) we knew we would be waiting, the little guy was ready to move. My husband took him out of the high chair to play with him and occupy him. The waiter came over and asked us to keep our kids volume down. We was just taken back by that comment. My husband was like how are we able to do that he’s a baby. All he was doing was laughing. The waiter then tells us it’s an “adult setting” and kids come in all the time and are fine. It was just so disrespectful. If you don’t want kids in your business we respect that, and won’t come, but you do. There are no 18 and older signs. No kids allowed and you have high chairs so that tells me kids are welcome. To be approached about this was just baffling. Like I said we’ve never had issues like this before any other time. It was embarrassing to have someone tell us to keep our 1 year olds volume down, he’s a baby. I just hope in the future other parents aren’t approached like this.

We went to this Peanut after a concert at the T mobile center and it was the best experience. We had wings and drinks at 12am and it was awesome. Our waiter/bartender (wish I knew his name) was so attentive and friendly, this is the best peanut location in the KC metro.

This is the WORST Peanut I have ever been to. The wings were horrendous and I am convinced that they were using a different sauce that has a Tabasco base instead of Franks Red Hot. The chicken was also horrible, I asked for extra crispy. This is a request that I have done at many other Peanuts with no issue. However, to this location they took that as please burn the chicken. The place was severely understaffed, and the food took at least 50 minutes to come out. I thought about complaining to the manager, but the person who seemed to be the manager was too busy taking shots with a group of girls next to my table, and helping his friend to. If this person was not the manager, than he was just a customer who was allowed to go behind the bar and pour drinks and talked with all of the employees. I genuinely feel sorry for the servers and bar tender because they needed at least two more people. While they were drowning in work and serving the person who seemed to be the manager, looked allergic to doing any sort of work. It’s sad to see a true Kansas City institution be run so horribly.

Really really good bar food with experienced service in a small but friendly atmosphere. Way more than just wings. Pro tip try the homemade blue cheese!

Amazing service, fresh food (tasted amazing!!!), all in all a ten out of ten. We came in a large group (almost 20 people) but the servers were still very attentive and welcoming! Definitely will recommend
