This place used to be my go-to for Mexican food for the last 10 years I don't know when it changed I haven't been there for several months but was awesome before but not anymore. They changed their chips which aren't any good anymore Taco shells same way. The drinks are weak and the service is slow even when they're not busy they won't do anything to make nothing right if you complain oh and by the way I asked for some jalapenos and I got some pickled ones out of a jar they used to have fresh ones I know times are tough but they definitely lost a customer that is spent lots of dollars there it's just not any good anymore went to Mia ranchito couple days later they were very nice and accommodating. Food and service was awesome chips salsa very very good.

Most of the time everything goes great. The food is good. Atmosphere is good. Help is very friendly and helpful. And even tho all that was true the last time, we waited close to 2 hours for our food to be brought to our table. This seems a bit excessive to me. The waitress gave us some excuse of the carry out orders taking precedence over dine in. For some reason this struck me wrong. She still got a good tip because it wasn't her fault. But I still don't think that is the way to do business. But that's my opinion. And it will be a bit before I suggest On The Border again.

God gave us a true servant...friendly, helpful and efficient. Some of us had experienced his excellent performances at the Independence and Lee's Summit OTB locations. He single-handedly accepted drink, appetizer and dinner orders, and only was assisted by those who helped deliver the entrees in amazing-time, given the industry-wide shortage of employees that continues to boggle my mind. Surely the pandemic-easing and end to government-financial-assistance will soon re-fill retail establishments with talent in need of employment. I predict and recommend Chris will qualify for his own bistro. His personality will attract subordinates with similar ethics!

Terrific food and service. This is the best OTB we've been to. The food was hot and tasted great. Service was very friendly. Bathrooms could have been cleaner but was Sunday rush and very busy. Highly recommend.

Always a favorite place to eat. This time I was impressed watching the bus boy clean ALL the table, not just the spots where people ate. Great job, crew! (Pictured is 1/2 serving brisket quesidilla off appetizers)

I want to like this place because I used to work here but they are struggling. It’s never busy anymore, the food takes forever, and the bar tender is slow and never smiles. The ambiance is a bunch of dirty tables, no music, and barely an employee in sight. The salsa is great but the vibe makes me not want to eat here anymore and it’s a shame because this was my favorite restaurant 10 years ago.

It was the most awful Mexican food I’ve ever had and this was the first time we’ve eaten Mexican there

The employees were A++. The man working the host station especially was going above and beyond by filling plates in the kitchen, making tortillas, delivering food to the tables and then back to the front to get people seated. No problems with the food either. The bathrooms were dirty, probably due to the lack of employees. Overall it was a good experience, but clearly management needs to get more people hired.

Food was over cooked and we couldn't eat it. Steak carbano tacos were nothing but tiny bits of crispy meat scraps. Told the manager and was told that since we didn't want our food, we had to pay for our sodas. 7 bucks for indigestion. What a deal.

Be sure to double check your curbside pickup. I was missing two thirds of one entree when I got home, called and went back, the Manager added in some free food along with apologies. Good food and work quick to correct a mistake, if any happen to occur.
