My husband and I went in for a quick cocktail and appetizer on a Saturday afternoon and had a good time. We chatted with the manager on duty and the bartender and they were both great. The nachos were awesome.
They were out of a lot during happy hour on a Thursday. No sidecars (I'm not sure what they could have been out of tbh), kegs kicked on dunkles, cutting the ginger beer with club soda etc. They do a good job with the gastro side, but the bar side leaves a lot to be desired. Table service was very good. But whoever does the bar ordering is setting the place up for failure.
Second time I've been in since they remodeled. Always a good sign when the dinner menu is one side of a piece of paper. "Hand-cut" fries look and taste bad. Coleslaw had way too much vinegar, fish was actually okay.
Save your $ and experience for another place. Unfortunately this really used to be a great place but after our experience this weekend We won’t be going back. The downstairs was a ghost town (Sunday brunch hours) the upstairs patio had some people but the service was really awkward? It honestly seemed like the people that were working were hungover or under the influence? We paid an insane amount for well tequila (margarita) and well vodka (Bloody Mary) that weren’t even drinkable. As someone who has worked in the bar industry and really used to love this place we were let down. I don’t write negative reviews often but this definitely left a lasting impression.
We stopped off early afternoon. Were very happy to be able to have our favorite Irish imports of Guinness and Magners. Very warm and comfortable space.
My husband and I order shrimp wontons (very nice!) nachos (huge serving!) and fish and chips (my husband really enjoyed this.) Service was great, drinks were refilled quickly. This is a nice pub with good service.
Pros: killer Reuben with quality meat and crispy pumpernickel. Comes with a big crunchy pickle! The nachos were a little spicy and good overall, but I'm glad I got the smaller happy hour version only.Nice subtle lighting and warm vibe overall. Helpful and friendly staff!Cons: Table hadn't been wiped and the mashed potatoes tasted like they had been reconstituted with nothing but water. A bit loud for my taste, but that's sports bars I suppose. Some utilities were behind like lights and paper towels needing replacement near the bathroom which is a bit surprising on the Plaza.

Went during Happy Hour. They had a decent size food menu for it and lots of drink options for it as well. The food was fast to come out of the kitchen and service was good. I really enjoyed the nachos with chicken added to them
I had never heard of Gastrobar until I Can to KC and came to this place. The idea is to have good drinks and good food This place delivered on both the drink selection and food deliciousness.
