Saturday evening at 7:00...not too busy, local patrons...good food from sandwiches to steaks and fish dishes. Attentive wait staff...nice atmosphere and good fair prices. We will be back.
Quite simply one of my favorite restaurants for so many reasons, the food is consistently delicious, they have some of the best staff of any restaurant in Kansas City. Forbes is a wonderful place to be anytime of day. I've eaten almost everything on the menu (other than the whole fish) and everything I've had has been delicious. This is just a great place to be and is in the heart of the wonderful Brookside Neighborhood. Look no further for your new go to place!
Hadn't been there in awhile. It was good! Nancy our waitress was wonderful! Had the green olive Bolognas was tasty, but sauce was a little watery. Husband had the Sicilian steak and enjoyed it. Shrimp appetizer and Greek salad were also very good!
We were a group of seven (7) and we had a blast. It was burger themed night, the waiter was amazing. Amazing for keeping everyone's DRINK orders correct and kept them coming. And the burgers were delicious and big almost everyone had to go boxes.I can't wait to go back. Delicious
Service was ok.. food was blah..chips were not seasoned, the auctioneer sandwich was fatty and the “soft cheese” tasted like cheese whiz. Chicken fried chicken was pretty good but veggies were just steamed-no seasoning. Felt a little like old folks home food.
Happy hour rocks. Quick for lunch. Great dinner spot with $$$ saving nightly specials. Food is consistently done right and tastes like your moms cooking. Best chicky tendys in town too. Solid staff. 10/10
Spilled a drink on me, splattered my face, soaked my pants and jacket. Didn’t comp my meal, gave a small, (I mean small), discount. After the spill there was an undercurrent of unfriendliness from the staff.Been coming here a long time that’s why five stars. I have never seen any of the people that were working that day before. I’ll wait a while and return in hope that it is the same great place.
Holey moley. Is Michael Forbes himself cooking my food? I've ordered it 3 times in the last 2 weeks to-go and you guys are knocking it out of the park. The Corn Chowder alone is amazing. I had a Steak Pasta which I was like whoa. I had the Green Olive Bolognese Spaghetti which was amazing. The hummus is great. The Gumbo was great. The Brocoli Cheese Soup was great. I'm going to keep coming back if you all keep this up. I'm sad I slept on this since missing the restaurant being Sharp's and missing all the great Sunday brunches I had here way back in the day. Keep it up!
Food was very delicious. Had a birthday dinner and our service was nothing but the best. Drinks are a hit
Went for KC Restaurant Week and we will definitely be back. Everything was so delicious. Looking forward to trying out their brunch sometime. The brunch buffet looks fantastic
