Very nice people, I ordered the nachos (gluten-free!) and since they were out of Jackfruit and I can’t eat gluten or soy. The options were Jackfruit, Seitan (which I didn’t know what it was but apparently it is vital wheat gluten. No thanks I have Celiac), so I got extra beans. The cheese and sour cream is made with cashews. The whole restaurant is Vegan, I am not but saw the menu and found gluten-free and soy free options and since it is vegan I don’t have to worry about dairy products. Oh my goodness the nachos were so good, it’s a good thing I got the mild because they were a little bit spicy so the spicy nachos would have been too much. I will definitely be back. The atmosphere is super cool too, the walls are painted by a local artist with flowers. My Mom ordered the BBQ Chic salad and she thought it contained chicken, she was confused when I told her there wasn’t because the restaurant was entirely vegan.
I've had vegan mac and BBQ tofu at probably a dozen places across the country, and this is honestly some of the best I've had of both.The BBQ Chic sandwich (as a slider so I could try them all) was definitely the highlight!

I LOVED this place!I was excited to actually be able to partake in the Kansas City Barbeque scene! The Brisket Sandwich was REALLY good. The macaroni and cheese side was one of the best I've had since going vegan. I decided that I couldn't choose between that and the cornbread, so I got both. It was a great decision since the cornbread was delicious as well.The vibe in the restaurant is bright and sunny. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Who could ask for anything more?
Amazing atmosphere, wonderful menu with a perfect variety. I absolutely love tofu, so the bbq brisket sandwich was exactly what I needed. Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious as well. Going to come back as much as possible. So happy I discovered this gem.

Mattie’s is amazing!!! Their breakfast sandwiches that are carried at MIKC cafe are so great to grab before work and they’re seriously delicious. I’ve only been to the restaurant once, but it was fantastic. Super friendly, clean and tasty. I got the buffalo Mac and strawberry shortcake. I’m excited to go back and try something new!
All I need to say is “NACHO MAC”!!!The cornbread is sooo moist and delicious.The buffalo chic sandwich is legit!The side dishes are divine!To top it off, the energy in the space and from the staff is on point!A family business that is powered in love. This place can do no wrong. The food is fantastic, the staff is so friendly and kind, and the prices are totally reasonable for delicious vegan food. Our daughter constantly requests going to Mattie's, and for good reason!
