Stopped by a couple of weeks ago while visiting the city market on a Saturday. Wanted to grab a quick breakfast on the way out. I tried your breakfast burrito and holy cow Batman, definitely the best breakfast burrito I've ever eaten. It was fresh, flavorful, just the right mix of egg sausage cheese and a hint of salsa. Just a tad crispy but the ingredients inside remained moist and delicious. Seriously I didn't know a breakfast burrito could be that good. Going to have to come back and try the rest of the menu!

My wife and I took their sausage making class and had a great time. We have made our own sausage with venison many times - but we still learned some cool things. We would recommend this class to anyone interested in making their own sausage or those that are only interested in learning how sausage is made.

Had an amazing meal today at Pigwich! I had a Philly and this amazing house sriracha sauce. What made this dining experience one if the best ...when I asked if they sold the sauce a worker said no but hold on. She put some in a condiment squeeze bottle for us to bring home. It's little things like this that make Pigwich a phenomenal dining destination.

First time in KC and I could not get enough of their cuts! I ended up going back every day of the trip for more. Their tamales were absolutely incredible, and the pastrami was out of this world! The man behind the counter was super helpful, very knowledgeable, and able to answer any and every question I had. I'm definitely making the 3 hour trip just to go back again!

How is there not a star above 5 for this place? Hands down, incredible meat!!!! And super nice employees! We live in Shawnee and rarely EVER come to City Market (my husband gets sick of downtown pretty easily lol) But guess who has a special trip down to the river market the past 3 weekends just for the Local Pig? US. I'm tellin ya, this local meat market is the best in KC! Their flavored sausages are so good, too! Can't wait to come next weekend, too ;)

It's ever so Satisfying when I make it in here to spend some of my hard earned money on sum really really Good Food. Brats, scrapple, cheeses, hot sauces, smoked honey, breads, burritos, steaks... They have it all and it's all so Good !! Definitely worth stopping in and picking up some of their Fine cuts of meats and all the other fixings they have for you to Enjoy ! Bring back the Bacon wrapped dates !!

I travel all over the country and I always look for local butchers and spice vendors. I loved this shop and all they offered. The "extras" like their sauces, cooking fats, etc were plentiful. I purchased a jar of tomato jam, guanciale and hot sauce. As I was walking back to my hotel the bag ripped and my jar of tomato goodness shattered in the street. I was so bummed! Anyway, I wanted to thank the store for being so cool. I contacted them and they promised to send me a replacement jar to my home. I thought that was pretty nice and showed outstanding customer service and appreciation. If I lived locally I would be a weekly customer for sure! I may even travel there to take their sausage making class...and drink beer while doing so. Looks fun. #gobills

I tried really hard to shop here, because I like local butchers, but I just ended up with a meat bill twice what I pay at a grocery store for not much benefit. The quality of the meat isn't exceptional, it's been sitting out and oxidized, the cuts are often ugly and sloppy with large chunks of fat left on steaks they are charging $22 a pound for, they cut oversized portions to force you to buy more, they won't cut anything to size when I asked for smaller cuts and only offered cuts that had me buying a half a pound more than what I wanted and the bacon I paid $10 a pound for was grey and had an old meat taste. There just is no reason to shop here. Edit: Added photos to show how much fat I trimmed off this steak they sold to me at $22 per pound. Rip off.

We have enjoyed the Local Pig foe years, from their sandwiches to go to butcher box and more. This years Porchetta roast we bought for Christmas might be their best product yet. Perfect flavor, just like what we’ve had in Italy. Do yourself a favor and try something, anything from here. You won’t be disappointed.

Stopped in for the 1st time after seeing on DDD and ordered the shows recommended Truffle & Cheddar Burger. Great tasting and cooked burger. Next time going to ask for extra tomato jam. Also order a Pigwich to go, asked if they could pack so bun did not get soggy. To go box had all ingredients separately wrapped and was able to assemble at home. We will be back.
