One of KC's best. Sauce is a little on the sweeter side, not too much though. Food was spectacular. Not flashy. That's a compliment. Get the beans and fries.
Have you ever been to an old-school BBQ restaurant that had the wonderful smell of smoked hickory when you walked through the door? If so, you know what I mean when I say that you will smell like a wonderful hickory BBQ pit until you bathe and change clothes. LC's is that kind of wonderful!BBQ just isn’t the same unless you smell like BBQ all day.The food has the best mouthwatering flavor here in Kansas City. It leaves your taste buds craving more and more. I enjoyed every bite of my pork and beef combination burnt ends today at lunchtime. Honestly, it was more than my stomach could hold but I continued to pack it in along with some coleslaw and giant sized french-fries. They were very (Like very x1.5) generous with the serving size. I was impressed! I eat BBQ everywhere and LC’s has the biggest portions in my opinion.Don’t expect anything fancy. The air-conditioning does an amazing job on a hot day. There is room for about 35 guests. Order at the counter and have a seat. They will holler for you when your order is ready. My order was ready about one minute after I filled my cup with soda. Parking wasn’t a problem. There was a limousine here today with a group from Las Vegas and I know of another group here from Oklahoma. It is like a tourist attraction with people traveling great distances to get a taste of KC BBQ at LC’s Bar-B-Q in Kansas City. Be certain to come here starving with an empty stomach. You will need the space.
There’s a reason why this place has been in business since they opened way back in 1986 and one of the true bbq destination spots in KC too! Really great burnt ends! Bbq sauce and seasoning were great too! Also love how the interior decor looks and always a good thing to see the smoker right behind the counter! Smell the smoky bbq goodness! KC bbq at its finest indeed!
I've lived in KC since 2014. This was my 1st time eating LC BBQ. After my dissatisfaction with the Taste of the long ends. I know that that I'm a true outsider. Restaurant looks cleaner in 2022. Kudos to the hardworking cooks. But one lady had a boggie in her nose. Another lady had a brown tooth which turned my stomach. I ate the meat wasn't that tender.$20 fries/ long ends tasted burnt. Sauce was underwhelming So it's a NO for me.
They smoke the ribs right inside! And oh, what a great smell that hits when the door opens! We tried both pork and beef burnt ends and they were terrific! The baked beans are the kind they include some of the barbecue pieces to make them more than just beans. Wow. It's a paper plate restaurant. Loved it. We ate inside as there was room at 3pm but one of the locals said that around meal time the line goes out the door and cars are parked for a long ways along the street for take out. It is worth it. Great BBQ!
Great BBQ! My family loves the beef sandwich & fries. I tried the wings fil& baked beans for the 1st time today and they were so fire I had to share some lol. The beans, omg..they will be a must have from now on! The staff is fun, they joke with you & lighten the mood while you wait m
All the food tasted great, but the ribs were tough and hard to get off the bone. The sliced turkey and pork were terrific. The BBQ sauce is really tasty. If I ordered again would not get ribs and would order more turkey and pork. Fries were great and the beans tasted good. Recommend the restaurant, but avoid the ribs.
Was at LC's today for lunch and ordered the pork sandwich with fries. Immediately when you drive up, you see smoke coming out a chimney and know it's legit. I'm always leery of a BBQ place where I never smell smoke. It's not big inside. Order at the counter, get your food when it's prepared by the guys behind the counter. They open up that pit and the smoke is evident in the creosote buildup. The pit is stacked with beef, pork, ribs, chicken, ham and wings. The sandwich was at least 8 oz of sliced pork stacked triple decker on white sandwich bread. Sauce is applied - slightly sweet and not overpowering. The smoke ring on the meat is evident on every piece. That may be the best pork sandwich I've ever had. The fries are house made, thick-cut potatoes that come right out of the fryer to your plate. They serve Pepsi products and beer for drinks. Everyone knows KCMO is known for their BBQ, but LC's is right up near the top. Give it a try!
I ordered the burnt ends. In the past I would rate LC’s burnt ends tops in KC. These were absolutely horrible!!! Inedible! I’ll never go back!!!
LC's is the best BBQ in KC, hands down. The baked beans are the best I have ever had. They are thick, rich, and taste amazing. Loaded with bit of meat. They are almost a meal by themselves. The meats are excellent across the board. Brisket and pork are my personal favorites, but I know burnt ends and ribs are super popular here also.I try to come here as often as I can when I am in town. Always a great meal.Highly recommend.
