We decided to go to Jazz: A Louisiana Kitchen for dinner again. I ordered the blackened catfish with veggies and rice. I made the mistake of not requesting the 1/2 order. The full order is huge but delicious. And it was naturally gluten-free.
I am not very adventurous with food. I thought I'd get breaded or blackened chicken at a Cajun restaurant. I asked my server what he liked. Without hesitation, he said, Stuffed Catfish! He was so confident that i ended up ordering that. I've never had catfish and I'm not into seafood mostly. It was soooooo good! So surprising! I will definitely return and order something else a server recommends!
The place is very dated, needs a remodel and cleaning. The alligator was pretty good, the gumbo was average, the oysters were really disappointing. My waitress was great.
Everything was great! From the customer service to the dozen of oysters and more...WOW!??! Returning soon and won't wait 10 years in between. Oh!!! Bar staff was on point with excellent ? customer service ??
You have got to come here!The food is awesome and don't be fooled by the appetizers..They are more than your typical appetizers...there more like full meals!.The shrimp plate pictured was the appetizer plate! I will definitely be coming back.Make sure you come to one on the KC MISSOURI side...not the KC KANSAS CITY side
This restaurant was our first lunch date 20+ years ago.We've not dined here in many years. Grateful for they've not changed a bit.Worth the wait for a table.Your food arrives likety split!Expect friendly service. Expect well worn tables, chairs, floors and plates.Expect delicious food.
Whoa!!! Not a national chain and to put it simply... I'm already planning my next time to go back again. The food is Sooooooo good and the portions will easily fill you. I ordered crab cake and they were covered in a shrimp and crab type sauce that I wasn't expecting. Then came the St. Charles something with dirty rice. It was mixed with a coconut base. Then finished it off with a serving of beignet's and a Bermuda triangle which had about 7 different alcohols in it. I recommend having a designated driver for this one. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself and a friend to this place.
Absolutely wonderful food. Love everything we get there! Catfish Nuggets and popcorn shrimp to start! Chicken A la mer. stuffed catfish. both excellent! blacken catfish. yum
The wait time was 45 mins but it was equivalent to every restaurant in the city. The food took a min but was worth the wait. My party stated the pasta is their favorite . We also ordered chicken strips,fried pickles ,all American cheeseburger(not pictured) which was also good . The drinks were good , the hurricane tasted a lil weird but had the right amount of liquor.It was cold in the restaurant could have been the area we sat at (downstairs). This was my 1st time and I will definitely be back.If your looking to try something new I recommend this place.
I've been to Jazz many times since it opened. It's a fun and lively environment, especially on Fat Tuesday, but I have never had a good experience there. The food is mediocre and the service is terrible.I decided to try again on Fat Tuesday 2022. We wanted to order carry out so I went to the website early in the day to see if I could schedule a pick up time but the soonest I could put in an order was the following day. I called the restaurant around 4:00 and talked to a manager to make sure they were taking to-go orders since it was Fat Tuesday. He told me they were and that I could call back around 5:30 for a 6/6:30 pick-up time. When my husband called later, he was told they were not taking orders over the phone and to put an order in online (which was still not working). I tried calling back to talk to the person I spoke to earlier but, after waiting a good 5 minutes, nobody answered their phone. By this time it was 6:30 and our our family was hungry and disappointed. Fortunately, we found a much better restaurant that was offering Fat Tuesday specials and answering their phone.
