The ONLY reason I’m choosing to give 1 star is because the cookies were great. But nothing else about our experience merits a positive review. We were in town for a few days and had heard a lot of good things about Insomnia Cookies from friends who had visited other locations - so we decided to give this a try. Immediately upon arriving we were given attitude with an eye roll. It was clear that they were frustrated to have customers. After asking for a certain type of cookie, we were told “we’re out of that one.” We asked which cookies they had left, and he responded with, “We’re out of a bunch of cookies, just tell me what you want and I’ll tell you if we have ‘em.” Yeah, super helpful - thanks. When I ordered, I asked what “Moo Crunch” ice cream was (since their labels didn’t list descriptions). Cue another eye roll, and then, “uh… peanuts, there’s chocolate, and some caramel.” I asked for a certain type of cookie, and was told they were out of that one too. By the time I was able to pick a cookie they had in stock, I almost wanted to just leave and not even bother giving them my business because of how much disgust and attitude the employee was showing me.This definitely goes down as possibly the rudest interactions I’ve had with employees in any establishment - not just food service. I will choose to take my business elsewhere in the future - and to anyone taking the time to read this, I suggest you do the same. Hit up Betty Rae’s - their staff was AMAZINGLY helpful and their ice cream slaps. You won’t be disappointed.
I love love love the cookies but the service at the Westport location is absolutely horrible. Specifically the short African American woman that works there. She has the worse attitude ever. If you don’t want to be there and help and do your job find one that better fits you. If it happened once it wouldn’t be a big deal, but I go there quite often and it’s the same results every time!!! Please get people that can give good customer service!!
Always tasty cookies at this location. When there was an error with a DoorDash order, the employees at this location were quick to rectify that. The employees are also really nice anytime we go in. 10/10, would eat them cookies again.
Tonight was my first time coming into this location and Insomnia as a whole. I came in a bit less than an hour before closing - plenty of time! My boyfriend and I are not the most picky people on the planet and it is hard to disappoint us. The wait was quite long, however that is totally okay considering a possibility of short staff - and there were only two girls working. I do have to say that the kitchen area was very messy and unpleasant to see. Extremely messy. The girl working at the register was careless with cookies and other things on the floor. She was also very rude to the customers as a group. As the wait went on, it got to about 11:30 and she yelled that the last person in line would be the last customer of the night. We get up to choose our cookies and she truly makes it apparent that she does not want to be there any longer. There was quite a lot of attitude with each customer before us from her and the other girl kept yelling at people to keep the door closed, as well as told the last customer in line that it was essentially his responsibility to not let anyone else in. There was an issue with the door lock, however 1) you’re not closed yet and 2) you could at least be nice. Moreover, we tried the brownies in the car and immediately were underwhelmed. They had a stale texture, but were warm. (Edit: Just got home, and not all of the cookies we asked for were in the box…) Overall, I did not enjoy my time there.I would like to add that I understand the struggles of short staffing and closing procedures in the food industry. Coming to the end of the night and closing is never the most fun, especially for a well known and heavily liked establishment in the middle of Kansas City where the traffic seems to not stop. I just think it is extremely necessary to keep that good attitude in customer service to avoid disappointing people and show respect. Otherwise, customer service may not be for you. Lastly, if you have posted hours and it says “closes at 12am”, you should not be closing the store at 11:30 just because. All respect!
Cookies were delicious as usual, but the worker was RUDE. She had a stank attitude and was on her phone and hardly listening while we gave her our orders. Won’t be coming back to this one because it’s not worth dealing with the sassiness
The open sign is off. Lobby is closed with only delivery and pick up. It doesn't say any of that so I wasted my time and energy trying to find parking. Ill go somewhere else, this is trashy service.
First time here. I would say the cookies are overpriced for the portion and quality but it is a unique concept and it's a plus they are served warm. As far as the customer service, it was some of the worst I've received so more than likely I wouldn't return. I didn't receive a simple greeting, the worker looked extremely upset we were there and it just felt like we were bothering the worker. The oatmeal chocolate walnut cookie was really good but I don't know if it is worth the overall unwelcoming customer service.
Walking distance if you are in the power and light district.Cookies are served hit.Can get ice cream sandwichesOffer 6pk of cookies for $11/$12Snickerdoodle is the best. Check out the pics.
ordered delivery was told 20 min...literally took hour and half was ready for bed before cookies even arrived.
Who doesn't love hot fresh cookies? This has to be Cookie Monster's favorite place because it is for all the adult cookie monsters in our house! We each have our favorites: one of us likes chocolate chip (ok we all do); one of us loves their chocolate cookie with mint (think Girl Scout cookie potent mint....and this is the one adult that is not a chocolate cookie fan!) You can capture my attention with a hot chewy oatmeal raisin cookie (yum) but man their snickerdoodle cookie is the bomb whether it is hot or next day (chewiness preserved in a plastic container). Just realized one of my son's (the biggest Insomnia Cookies cookie monster) birthday is in 2 days.....guess we're getting more cookies! YAY!
