I ordered the meatballs & stuffed mushroom appetizers. WOW. im still craving more. topped it off with the strawberry sparkler for dessert. a lovely treat and the best mimosa i’ve ever tasted.thank you kyle for the great service & props to the chef for a wonderful meal.
What started off as a mid morning coffee walk ended as an incredible lunch. We stopped to look at a menu posted in the window only to be ushered in by our wonderful waiter Kyle. He informed us they had only opened back in August but the atmosphere and quality of just the interior made it seem like they were a Kansas City staple. After we got our menus and started looking through the menu we were brought some bread with a brown sugar and butter glaze and it was the perfect start to an incredible meal. Usually I prefer a savory or salty starter but I have zero complaints about this bread. Kyle was very attentive to our table and was constantly checking on us, getting us what we wanted/needed. I ordered two appetizers as my meal, I wasn’t super hungry but still wanted to try a few things off the menu. I went with the boulettes de viande (meatballs with a sweet and spicy sauce) and the poulet doight (custard fried chicken strips with a special sauce) and they were both magnificent. The meatballs were light and spongy and the sauce complimented them perfectly and the chicken was tender and the breading was seasoned just right. Again Kyle was there to refill our waters or get us (me) extra sauce. Overall, this has been one of the best dining experiences I’ve had while traveling, we didn’t even plan on eating this morning and I am so immensely happy that Kyle had opened that door for us. 100/10 would dine there multiple times if I had the time. If I am ever back in Kansas City you can bet that I’ll be stopping here again and again.
First off, this place is right around the corner from my downtown apartment, so it's very convenient for me to go get me a quality, classy meal in a nice, fashionable and clean establishment. It's so close and sooo nice that I met a few of my high school buddies there for a reunion, this past weekend...The menu is diverse, almost adventurous, yet seems very familiar. The food I ordered was obviously prepared with care as it was absolutely fabulous. The service was both courteous and prompt. My first time there, I ordered and ate my meal there and then ordered some to-go, which came quickly, piping hot! Thanks Chef Kim!There is nothing I didn't like about this place and I recommend that everyone that loves food check it out!
Came for the Valentines menu and had a great time. Both appetizers were excellent and the steak was very well prepared. Dessert was adorable and loved the special heart straws and chocolates ?
Just ordered lunch from here and ordered fried chicken and the sliders from their lunch menu with a DrPepper. The sliders were supposed to have 3 and instead only had 2 and the fried chicken was supposed to come with green beans and didn't. Also they forgot the DrPepper. When we called back their response was that the dishes only came with 2 sliders and no green beans. It's literally listed on their lunch menu that there's 3 sliders and the fried chicken comes with green beans. Like if you mess up just own it but instead you're gonna say it's not on the menu when it's clearly there online. https://foodlovecafe.com/lunch-menu/
Great food & service! Definitely recommend and will be back!
Everything was amazing! Very few places I’ll go and order an appetizer and dessert. The soup was warm and flavorful and the big mama fried chicken was fried and seasoned perfectly. Will definitely be back soon for another date night!
Restaurant week....was great. Almost like a hideaway spot to eat. Had the big momma chicken was ?and our waiter Carl was awesome!!!!!!
We came on a Saturday night and they were able to seat us right away. The server was very friendly but didn’t hover, I ordered an alcoholic drink it was large and reasonably priced! The food was so good it was the best fried chicken I’ve had for a long time! I would absolutely recommend this place! We went ahead and booked Valentine’s Day reservations here because it was such a great experience!
We walked about 15 minutes in the snow from our hotel since the roads weren’t quite safe enough for us to drive and it was not disappointing! Portions are perfect with the pricing! I got the stuffed French toast with the vanilla custard and it was splendid it can with two “sandwiches” and syrup, the custard was not overpowering and the taste of the thick bread made it even more delightful. I also got a side of 1 egg and I would say I was not expecting that much for $2 usually when I order “1 egg” on the side I don’t see much but quite literally 1 scrambled egg but this side dish was at least 3! Loved it all! Total came out to around $13 without tip!<3
