We love the staff and the food. They are kind and helpful. Tres leche chocolate and fruit birthday cakes are the best. My favorite tamales are the red pork ones. Then there is the panadería with lots of bakery choices. We drive from Blue Springs and it's worth the drive.

Elvira's Cakes is good for an inexperienced Mexican foodie, but from one that comes from a city where Mexican/Hispanic culture reigns it lacks. The food has good taste, especially their gorditas with rajas. The one thing I have noticed throughout Kansas City is that Tres Leches cake is everywhere and coming from Los Angeles Tres Leches is also in most Hispanic bakeries but is never the center of Hispanic pastry. For that part I give Elvira's a 3 out of 5 because they are just going with Kansas City flow and not true to Hispanics bakeries of having more variety.
Best place to buy tres leches cakes. Everything is always fresh. The food is really good too. Highly recommended.

Food is ALWAYS delicious but today fell short on the avocado slices. If they look this bad, please do not add them to an order. Just saying. Lol
Above and Beyond- If You Can Think It, They Can Create It. My friend ordered a cake for my birthday and they clutched up big time over night. Needless to say, this is now my go to spot for cakes and other delicacies. Just Wow!!!
Horrible customer service!! Placed a order for a Tres Leches cake at 3:45PM to be picked up at 7:30 the same day, and they never made the cake. Said the order was canceled, when I had confirmations that it was ready. They didn't even offer to make it or anything, just said were sorry and cant do anything about it. Paid for it in advance too. Probably wont ever do business here again.
