Great customer service! I really enjoyed the selection of delicious tasting donuts! I believe these are cake donuts and some might be different. Yum!!! I had a peanut butter and a strawberry ? that was very rich in flavor.The first time I went in, there was a mature, silver hair beautiful lady who took her time to share the variety of pastries. So many to choose from....I appreciate her patience and professionalism.There was a guy that served me the second time with a smile and provide quality service. It was a delight to find this gem of a place. There's a variety of beverages such as coffee and a few other drinks.
In a world where Long Johns are sadly getting smaller and smaller, thankfully Donut King has decided to ignore that terrible trend! I'm not local, but I've heard great things about Donut King, so I had to drop by the drive thru for the first time when I was up North. They have a huge selection, but I had to try my favorite chocolate Long John, and to my surprise it was giant! Not only was it the biggest Long John I've seen in years, because everyone else has decided to start making Short Johns, it was fluffy, soft, and delicious too! I can't wait to go back and try some of their other selections (the maple bacon caught my eye, but they were out by 9:30 on a Saturday, so it must be good)!
We came here because we were looking for a new donut place that was open past 4pm. Upon walking in we were not greeted as hoped for??.. My Husband broke the awkwardness by speaking very friendly to stop the stare of looking at us as if we were in a fish bowl??...? we ended up trying a bunch of stuff like, the lemon cheese danish, chocolate long john, glazed, chocolate & cherry donut holes, sourdough, twists, jelly donut and a strawberry cheesecake cupcake. We got something for everyone back at home. Out of all those we ended up choosing the sourdough donut over all of it. Listen, being friendly and greeting people from all walks of life is a universal language, one race, the human race.. #FACTS
My favorite donut place ever. Been going here since I was a child, when the business used to be on Chouteau. Even now, it's some of the best tasting donuts in Kansas City. Staff is wonderful. Lobby is clean. Bavarian and jelly donuts are amazing. The cinnamon rolls are divine.Seriously. This donut shop is so good.

Went to donut King as it was ranked the number 1 donut place in KC I found it better than LaMar. Yet when I compare it to overall donut places it does not really compare. I tried 5 different donuts the one I liked the most was the Cherry French Cruller.
I was looking for a bakery north of the river that made a King cake for Mardi Gras. No luck til I tried Donut King. Yes they did make King cakes and OMG was it delicious!!! PLUS when I went thru the drive thru, cake box was too large to fit out. I went to turn around for parking outcame an ployee bringing the cake to me. Great cake and exceptional customer service!But don't wait for Mardi Gras, visit soon for deliciousness! NOTE: if you like apple fritters, theirs are sublime!!! Not the big doughy kind, but thin and crispy and filled with apples!
Wow, pretty great donut place, tons of selection and interesting offerings - including the famous cronut in different flavors like strawberry cheesecake, peanut and butter and jelly, and birthday cake. Overall, I don't feel like it's just heavy on gimmicks that don't really work, like a lot of newer donut places seem to be. Even has a drive-thru option which is nice because when I went on Saturday around 11:30am, this strip mall was packed. Speaking of which, most donut shops would have their selection decimated by this time of day, but Donut King was still fully loaded with an impressive inventory.
Great variety of donuts and they have a drive thru! Perfect for stopping by while you're playing at ReRoll Tavern because they are open late.
Not a lot of choices but you can smell and taste the freshness. I hope they stay small townish. The other donut places go franchise and their customer service and taste quality go down the drain. Their red velvet cupcakes are divine!
