Traveling with a party of 11 (baby and a dog). Asked to be seated on the patio because we didnt want to leave the dog in the car on a 90 degree day. Attitude was thrown from everyone we encountered. They seemed “put out” to have us on the patio and when we asked about putting 4-top tables together to accommodate the entire group we were again thrown attitude stating we could sit in the sun at a picnic table. The manager came out and again just kept saying we couldnt move tables together. They had no reason why, just that we couldnt. There were no other people sitting on the patio nor anyone waiting to dine here. They expected us to sit in the sun with a baby and a dog. Seems with the current state of the economy treating a party of 11 poorly is a bad financial move. We gladly took our appetites and money to Char Bar where we had excellent food and superb service. We will definitely return to Char Bar our next trip to KC.
Normally we like this place, they have a great cocktail menu. HOWEVER, today we went in and stood at the front door for 5 minutes without being acknowledged. 2 servers walked by us and didn't even make eye contact. We left and went to Gov. Stumpy.
This restaurant had been on my list for some time. I visited for the first time with a former colleague, her husband, and their daughter. When we entered there was only one other diner. We had our choice of seating. Plenty of . Therefore, plenty of natural lighting. There were booths and tables.I ordered the Voodoo Shrimp from the After 5 selection. The ? was plump and juicy but I disliked the voodoo. There was too much liquid, and too many vegetables. The consistency was not to my liking.Thankfully, I ordered the Grilled Salmon to go because I was still famished. The grilled salmon was good. My colleague had the District Club from the On Bread section. She seemed to enjoy her meal. Her husband had the Fish N Chips. The restaurant was clean and spacious. The service was fair.
My whole family loves going to district for brunch and dinner! The kids are branching out and trying new things which is great! Their new fave is the crab dip. Yum! We love everything we have tried. My personal fave is the fish tacos! Best in town! The service is always super friendly and Emiliee is top notch as our fave manager.
Close to home. Usually really good service. Nice atmosphere. Beer menu could be better, but always has one or two things I like. Based on those things alone, I'd give it a 4.5. Unfortunately the food is inconsistently average
The atmosphere was amazing. Our waiter was polite and attentive. I had the chicken and waffles plus a side of bacon and potatoes. The waffle was light and fluffy. I loves it. The chicken was nicely seasoned but a little overcooked as well as the potatoes. The bacon was good but for my taste, it could have been cooked a little longer. I also had 2 raspberry hibiscus mimosas they were delicious. My best friend had a pineapple on but it was gross. You couldn't taste the pineapple at all. Overall I would go back just to try other things on the menu.
Stopped in for brunch, had a great time. Food was amazing, service was wonderful as well. Definitely will come back again to try more things from here.
Great drink, food and service!
I don't disagree with the 4 ratings - but I had a great experience.Great drink menu. Thinking of the name "Pour House" I was hoping for a bigger beer list. No big deal.Wife had the smoked salmon sandwich and I had the fried chicken sandwich. Both came with fries. Fries were great and sandwiches were excellent.I could tell they are hiring and training more servers so I am hoping that will alleviate some of the feedback about servers disappearing. Our server was polite and attentive.Food is a bit pricey - but that's how things go now right? It was tasty. Would like to come back to try some of their other items.
Food was delicious, the shot menu is superb, waitress went missing a couple times. But overall great food and drink. Definitely recommend and will be back
