terrible customer service. We ordered two bagel sandwiches. One didn’t have any cream cheese, or tomato. We never said we didn’t want the extras. As soon as we walked in one of the employees had a terrible attitude and her willingness to assist wasn’t there. Tattoos, curly hair and very sweaty. We called back for a refund and we could hear her in the background asking about the order. One of the bagels also had a hair inside, which we didn’t discover until we got home. In the background we heard “why did she take it then” she should not be looking to blame us when she should be wearing a hair net. She was very rude and inattentive. Bad look for our first visit. Won’t be back. The woman said she would send our refund and seconds later they hung up in our face. Better employees needed immediately. She should not be working customer service with that poor attitude.
I love City Market Coffee - it's located in the bustling KC River Market - especially busy on Saturdays in good weather - and the moment you near the entrance, you are flooded with a deep whiff of the richest smelling beans around....the baristas here created a great iced Americana with hazelnut for me and a Very Berry smoothie for my niece today. There is usually a line, but these folks are friendly and efficient, so it moves quickly. I did notice today that it was just a bit messier than I have seen it in the past... the creams/utensils/napkins counter needed bussing and wiped. We were there after the lunch rush so they must not have had time to clean it yet, hence, still 5 stars for coffee quality but 4 stars for overall cleanliness.If you have not been here, it really is a must. Order your coffee, then head up the spiral staircase to a cozy seating area from which you can watch the steady movement of happy customers...Oh, and when you're finished, don't just leave...there is a plethora of sights, sounds, aromas and activities beckoning you within just a few steps. Spend the day at the Market!
City Market Coffee is my go-to in Kansas City. Think of Cheers, but in a Cafe where the staff are friendly, know your name, and usually your preferences as well. Their sourced beans are roasted in house, and if you are lucky you can catch the staff roasing them up, with an aroma that can only be described as euphoric. I highly recommend this staple Coffeehouse, and look forward to them being in the new KC terminal once it opens!
We ordered food for pickup. It was really good. We had the egg and cheese and the breakfast sandwich on a bagel with turkey. Both were good. Coffee was good. Decor nice. It is in a great area. Pickup staff not super friendly but they were very busy though. I would definitely recommend this place.
This is the best coffee I've ever had. We always take a bunch home when we visit from St Louis. We've made multiple trips just for coffee from City Market and dinner from the Tavern at Mission Farms. Two of my favorite places ever ❤This place is BUSY and small. Be patient and kind. The workers here are awesome.
this place is my Saturday morning guilty pleasure. If I don't have time to stop in on my way to work I order through doodash because it's such a comfort. I love trying new things here and everything always lives up to expectations. I love trying new things here but if I had to recommend anything, it would be the lavender or almond flavored syrups in a latte, iced matcha with coconut milk, and the cranberry orange muffin!
You will not find better coffee than this. Their lattes are unlike any latte I've ever had. Sooo thick and creamy. Also try the pastries! Homemade pop tarts! No way! But yes and they are good. There is a spiral staircase in the back that leads up to more seating and its super cute. If you're at the River Market, get some coffee from here for sure.
hands down the best coffee I've ever had. I adore this place. we visit as often as possible from St Louis and always leave with bags to take home. the homemade poptart looking pastries are delicious, also. great baristas
Ordered an iced latte, asked for it to be extra sweet. Got my coffee it was not sweet at all. I understand if your coffee shop doesn’t add sugar but that should have been mentioned during the ordering process instead of being ignored. I have been to about every coffee shop in the area and they have always add liquid sugar. I have never been to a coffee shop that adds nothing to it at all. I’m a nice person who was respectful to the workers but I’m very displeased. Also found that the lady I talked to was also rude to a catholic student who just asked a simple question. I’m sorry if this worker was having a bad day, but shouldn’t be taken out on customers. ? Customer service isn’t what it used to be.
Love, love, love the vegan breakfast burritos here! The fresh orange juice is amazing, and the vegan cream cheese is a winner! Today my child and I dined in, walked up the spiral staircase, found great seating, and enjoyed our breakfast and people watching!
