I like the catfish and there are many other choices for fishe. The batter is crispy and I prefer the spicy. They have a nice selection of sides. I get the deep fried mushrooms. The prices are a little high for what I pay for lunch but the food is good for what you pay. Very friendly staff. I can usually order and be out within 10 to 15 minutes.
I was given a very healthy portion of catfish filet, and 2 compartments of dry shredded cabbage for my Cole slaw.When fish is packed and transported it's packed with salt for preservation my fish was so briny I got a headache and there was a sign posted let us know if you want medium or little salt which indicates to me you are aware that you know it is salty why add more. To complete my order I ordered fries it was. not until we had ate meal in hand ready to sit and eat, I was asked what other side I wanted because they were out of fries until tommrow.
I ordered online for pickup and left a tip. The staff behind the counter was very unpleasant. My fries were old and my chicken Philly had huge chunks of flavorless chicken that were just slightly underdone. Veggies taste like dirt ?
I was in the establishment today and was beyond disappointed I send various clients to this location but will no longer do customer service is not a priority .. it couldn’t be as they have yet to take control on cashier I believe I heard another customer Trisha .. this has not been my first and I’m sure not last seeing her being very rude she had an entire full lobby and proceeded to talk on her Bluetooth in her ear about the job customers and the cooks.. “these people don’t know” was what was said multiple times we are paying patrons and I can’t speak for others but until she is removed I will never return! She will be the downfall of this establishment me and other customers compared how we have been treated poorly by her as well. She yells at the customers doesn’t want to answer questions and I was told u have a problem contact management. My blog viewers of hotspot kc will be aware.
Ordered the shrimp dinner. The shrimp were excellent however the fries were old and cold and you could tell they had been sitting for awhile, the coleslaw lacked flavor and the container was half full. I wanted dessert so the lady at the front offered up the sweet potato cheesecake in which she went to the back to get, however, the cheesecake portion was completely frozen and I was unable to enjoy after my meal, made me question the freshness of it. I ended up throwing it away…
Best shrimp poboy this side of New Orleans! Very friendly staff. Clean interiors and. Bathrooms. Don’t be fooled by the strip center condition. Food cooked made to order, served hot and quickly. Looks like a lot of regulars enjoy take out.
Chicken was good. Corn bread muffins were good. If you like greens this is the place to go. Best greens I've had in this city, absolutely awesome.
Food is pretty good. Service is pretty bad. My order was forgotten by staff and I got it over an hour later. No apologies or accountability. Sign says if you dont get presented with a printed reciept, your order is free, but I didnt get a printed reciept presented and the offer was not held up on their end. I hate seeing soul food places with potential continue to disappoint.
First off I think they sold me food that had been sitting out. When I got home my mac & cheese was ice cold, which I didn't eat bc the noodles were overcooked. My fish &hush puppies were room temperature, I had to warm it up. I didnt take it back bc it was too far a drive back. Then I woke up in the middle of the night sick, I'm actually laying on the bathroom floor as I type this. I would say hell naw to this place.
The gumbo is amazing, the orange roughy is worth every penny. The fried chicken is really good. The greens are delicious. Come to think of it everything I have tried here has been amazing. Definitely try the gumbo
