Afterward tavern has a great atmosphere with a mellow vibe. It’s nice to be able to get a drink and be able to chat with friends without loud music or raucous crowds. I also appreciate the beer options even though they’re known for their cocktails.
Loved it here! The vibe of the whole place is super cozy and it was fun to be able to play games while hanging out and drinking - big shoutout for having chess tables! If I was a local I would definitely sign up for their booze & book club, such a cool concept. There was live music and the drinks were great. I had the Yellow Wallpaper and would totally recommend. If I ever come back to KS, I'd definitely stop in again! Cheers ?

I've been stopping by this delightful spot for a few years now, whenever I am in the neighborhood. It's a great vibe to relax with a friend or two. Books, drinks, snacks, music, Convo. Perfect!
Went here for the first time last night and I can truly say I have found a new favorite place in Kansas City! The atmosphere was perfect, relaxed but lively enough to not feel like you could fall asleep. The cocktails are great and the bartenders take care in making them. Speaking of the service, top notch! Was checked in on enough times to be polite, but not too many to feel overwhelmed. I can’t wait to return!
Great place. But your not going to read there! Too loud for a read. Might be different surfing the week. Other than that it would definitely be 5 star!!! Honest drinks, cool atmosphere, awesome patio. Definitely a great place to people watch! Great service from an ultra slammed staff. Worth a visit.
Cool concept as it combines cocktails, books and board games. nice vibe to hang out with friends (not really a place for reading since it's so dark and noisy in there. The cocktails were okay but could be more impressive.
Parker is a great bartender all around. Really knows the works of hospitality and making you feel welcomed. My first time visisiting the city and I must say he made my experience very accommodating. Good drinks and bar recommendations. ?
