They were packed but the staff was still incredibly friendly. The food was amazing as always.
Food was good, as usual, but the wait was long and a lot of the order was wrong. They got it fixed, but it took a while. They were also out of a few items we wanted. Chili was the best part.
I want to preface my review with the fact that the people running the registers were very friendly and service was timely considering the circumstances.First time at a Steak 'n Shake and from others' perceptions I was excited, but I think that set the bar too high. I got the garlic burger which had decent flavor but was very salty and came with nothing but buns, meat, garlic spread and cheese. I also ordered the banana shake but wasn't anticipating a banana laffy taffy flavored shake, which was disappointing.I might go back to give it a second chance but won't be a priority.
It is Steak 'n Shake - your classic 50's diner with delicious steak burgers, shoestring fries, and some of the best shakes around. There was chaos the day of our visit - part of the town was without power and the computer system went down. The manager on duty was outstanding and the wait staff doing there best.Why 4 stars then? The fries tasted stale. Not the norm for the past experiences I have had. The cook wasn't cooking. As soon as the computer system went down, he stopped. I was disappointed that there wasn't more ownership taken. Grab a ticket, start cooking some meat. Even cooking some burgers because people are still ordering would have been wise; yet, he checked out.
Food was great and relatively inexpensive. Cheaper and better than eating McDonald's.On food alone for 2 adults and 4 kids was same as just the 4 kids at McDonald's. Add in shakes and tip we spent about $10 per person. $60
We have been fans of Steak n Shake since visiting Orlando, and were excited to find one on our route to St. Louis! The garlic burger......so good!
Steak and Shake in Joplin Missouri is awesome. The food is great and the prices are very reasonable and low .They make it affordable for families or anyone .Our waitress ,Brianna ,was just outstanding. She kept a check on us and was very polite.We will definitely return. I do however, hope they get chicken fingers back. They are very good.
The place was dirty. Employees didn't care at all. Waited awhile to be seated while the waitress stood by the drink area talking. After taking our order, the food came out pretty quick and was fine but our waitress never came to check on us or refilled our drinks even after looking right at them empty on the edge of the table and even passing by us multiple times. Worst steak and shake I've ever been to and I won't be returning.
We went through the drive through at lunch. Really slow and the ladies working were not friendly. We had eaten at other Steak and Shakes and were looking forward to a6 wonderful burger. The burger was dry and only had a dab of fried onions. We waited for 15 minutes to place our order and then 15 to get the he food.
The fries ? were perfect for a change- pale golden brown. The manager really knows how to cook a burger. The waitress was excellent ?
