Ended our anniversary celebration here before heading home. Crabbys didn’t disappoint .. nor did the service highly recommended
My daughter and her date went there for prom on my recommendation. My daughter said food was horrible, after taking too long. 45 minutes for soup and salad. The waiter was too busy talking to others to take care of them. Overall a horrible experience. I have been in the business to understand you aren’t going to retire off the experience of waiting a prom table, but a bad experience will cause parents to tell friends not to frequent the establishment. It also kills off future clientele. Maybe some coaching on customer service and ticket times would help. Overall, we will not be visiting ever again, and will go out of our way to ensure friends won’t visit either. On the other hand they had a fine experience at Fins the evening of Joplin’s Prom. You may want to visit to collect ideas on how to handle these incidents.
After years of fabulous meals, tonight was a major disappointment. Started with my husband’s pork chop lacking the mashed potatoes. Next my Salmon Oscar was sadly inadequate. I have ordered it forever. Tonight was about a 1/2 portion and had no taste. My salad was plain and small ( they put my dressing inside of container taking up 1/3 of space. For an $80 meal, it was extremely disappointing. Also not to mention, their prices on website are not accurate ( lower than reality). Ours was a special occasion ( 49th anniversary ) and due to Covid and health reasons, we did take out. Not our first Crabby’s take out, the others were much much better. This is it for Crabby’s. We will find another special occasion eating experience. Plus if you look at my other reviews, you know I love to praise great places and I have certainly found many - sadly few in our country.

I love the atmosphere here. The restaurant is chill and romantic at the same time. I had lunch here a month or so ago and it was good. The Thai shrimp plate was excellent. A week or so ago, a couple of us booked a date night. It was everyone’s first time (except me). Unfortunately, the food was mediocre. That night, I wished we had just gone to a chain restaurant. This restaurant seems to be one of Joplin’s more upscale places. I hoped there would be more of a wow factor. That night, the mixed grill seafood was flavorless, the garlic mashed potatoes were chalky, the incredible shrimp appetizer was average, and the pork chops were nothing special. We were all disappointed with the food. I hope it was just a bad night in the kitchen because I do love the restaurant atmosphere. I will try it again but I doubt my friends will be back.
Took my wife for valentines dinner was the only time I can say I was disappointed I had the sea bass could not eat it was raw the server seen that I didn't eat but one bite never said a word. My wife's salmon was okay but certainly not up to Crabbys standards. The bread pudding was awesome as usual only thing about the evening that was our wonderful Crabbys, super disappointed.
We reserved a private room for a delayed holiday get together. The room was cozy and spacious enough for 12 or so. Staff is friendly and prompt with drink and app orders. We had the Pinot Grigio and Riesling, both were great. The group started with calamari, tuna, oysters and incredible shrimp. They disappeared quickly! The calamari was well seasoned, had a soft crunch and cooked perfectly. For entrees, my wife had the filet with potatoes and I had the Blackened Salmon Oscar with mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The salmon was absolutely amazing. Our visit ended with great company, great food and and an overall great experience.
Absolutely some of the best calamari we have ever had. Jake, our server, (and he has insurance through State Farm) was a joy! if you are ever in Joplin this is a must!
I am continuously blown away. Everything from the ambience, the food, and the staff is exquisite. It’s a wonderful and much needed gem in Joplin. I highly recommend the scallops and shrimp.
Food and service were excellent as usual. Had the Boursin stuffed chicken and it was wonderful. Will definitely be back.
