Easily the most friendly service with a smile in all of Jefferson City. Abrah at the register is THE sweetest! Salad is still the best in town. Big Jim’s Italian Hero or the Chicago Beef—two delicious sandwiches! Just a fun, warm, cozy place to eat. A local fav!
We were looking forward to eating at Old Brick House Deli, after some friends recommended it to us. We went there for brunch this morning. What a disappointment! The doors were open, and their sign said they were open, but we couldn't get anyone to notice us. We came in the back door and walked through the building to the front. There was a young man and a young woman with their backs to us in the kitchen area. It appeared they were either preparing an order or prepping for the lunch crowd. I said "hello" to get their attention, but they did not acknowledge us. As we were standing there talking about leaving, another employee walked down a hallway toward the other two workers. I thought she would see us in her peripheral vision, especially since we were standing there talking, but she didn't look our way. As we were getting ready to drive away, another employee came outside and looked our way as she checked the patio area, but she did not approach us. First impressions are important. We left feeling as if the employees were saying, "If we ignore them, maybe they will go away." We did, and we will not be back.
Reminds me of eating lunch at my grandma's house. Good sandwiches and salads. Nice coffee shop vibes. No wifi.
