We had simple food and it was good. We had Chinese food in different places and this was good and a bit different. The service was great and at noon the restaurant was full.
Great food! Superb service! It’s a favorite stop when we have the time and opportunity to stop in Jefferson City!
I found this restaurant was a good Chinese food experience. We got the meal for 4 people and it feed three adults and two children. The atmosphere and experience was very traditional. We were given complementary hot tea and water in glasses with our meal. Please watch the receipt: we were charged a gratuity on the bill and given a place to add a tip on the credit card bill. Be sure you know what your are doing. I would recommend this place.
Celebrated a family Birthday there last night with eight people present. Service was terrible and food was blah at best. It took forever to get our appetizer order served. Then the main course was served. However, we did not receive our drink order until after they served the main meal, even after repeated requests. It appeared the only employees in dining room was the original owners and she was the waitress. Only four tables occupied on a Saturday night. Not friendly and spilled Sweet & Sour sauce on table and one person and did not even say she was sorry! From start to finish, it took over two hours for our meal. When we went to pay discovered they automatically added tip to each bill. We informed the Manager that we were not going to tip as a result of our bad experience, and his comment was, "then don't come back". It appears as if the previous owners just do not care anymore after selling business to some management company. We will never set foot in Hunan's again!!!
The food has really gone down in quality along with the service while the price has ballooned since I was last there. This used to be one of my favorite places but today they delivered mu shu pork both over and under cooked as well as wonton soup with no wontons. The wait staff were also rude and pushy. Lastly they also now include a tip with the bill, I never don't tip but I won't use a service that forces it and sets their own amount which was about 20% of the total. So to conclude bad service, poor food quality and sketchy business practices.
They gave us some old food that was out for longer then supposed to. They charged me with no receipt. They don’t do refunds for food! What kind of a restaurant doesn’t give you back the money for food didn’t even eat or touch! DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE!
Good food and server was great...but the owners add a tip for themselves to your bill which is SEPARATE from your tip to your waiter. Very shady. If your supply prices have gone up, just increase your menu prices ??♀️?
Kind of sad. Used to have really good product but take out came less meat and they have some funky I don’t know what like 18% charge for any bill they call it a tip but they don’t give any of it to the server. Very strange qualities gone down and so it’s still good enough for two stars. Because when you dine in they give you more meat. Consistency is a problem at this restaurant which will not make it too well long-term. Buyer beware and don’t hesitate to request what you want specifically.
I ordered the shrimp curry. I asked for extra spicy. It was not spicy at all. Not a pepper in sight. Then, my tab is brought to me (I WAS going to order a drink) and my server had already added a tip! She chose her own amount and decided to just throw it on there. I definitely WILL NOT be going back. I can understand adding gratuity for a group of people but for ONE person? Mind you, I've had enough time to type this out while waiting for my to go box. My server is currently wiping down tables.
Went here for lunch during the week and it was so nice. The service was fast and the food was great. Complimentary hot tea and egg drop soup!
