This Minsky's has that "lived in" vibe where the carpet always seems sticky and the walls a little grimey. They keep it dark so you don't notice as much while you're inside. They hoots and cackles of teenagers can usually be heard from the kitchen so at least the staff is having a good time. The food is usually served hot, but I've been here times before where it hasn't been so great too. They're "St. Louis" style pizza isnt bad, but they really shouldn't call it that since it bears no resemblance to actual St. Louis style. The servers here tend to be good at forgetting your drinks too.Overall, its not a bad weeknight option if you're local.
Minsky's Pizza was okay!!! Not the best around but DEFINITELY no where NEAR the worse!!! I would say top 5 in the Independence area!!! They are on the pricey side!!! The employees were nice and friendly!!! The place seemed clean!!! I wouldn't have gone here if it wasn't for a fundraiser!!! But again, it was decent pizza!!! Not a regular place on my list though!!!(Note on pics: They do sell wine, beer, and cocktails here!!! I don't drink alcohol!!! So I did not take a picture of that!!! I didn't take the pictures with Google reviews in mind!!! I do apologize!!!)
There is nothing about this place I enjoy. Way over priced for what is served. I personally did not enjoy the taste of their pizzas and the service left a lot to be satisfactory.
We live 20 minutes from this location and picked up on our way home from an event. We ordered two pizzas and a spaghetti with meat sauce, a meatball and extra cheese - $11.98 before tax. When picking up, the cashier did indeed show me the pizzas but did not pull the pasta out of the bag. I had no reason to suspect anything so I left and we went home. The first image is how they advertise the dish I ordered - the second image is what I received. There was less than a cup of food and no meatball or meat sauce as ordered.I reached out to them privately to try and get this rectified - no response.
Minsky's is one of my all time favorite pizza places. They have some unique pizza flavors that I find quite delicious. One of my favorites is the cheeseburger pizza. It has a mustard and ketchup based sauce with beef, pickles, and onions (I think I got that right) and is delicious. They also have burgers, sandwiches, wings, and some pasta if you want something other than pizza. They work well with large groups and the wait staff are normally attentive and do a great job. As with all places you can go out to eat, I have been there when things were not going as well as normal, but when those few times have occurred, the managers were quick to remedy the situation. We have been there with a large family gathering, with a large church group, and my wife and I have been there for a quiet dinner for two. We love their pizza with the beef tostada pizza being the all time family favorite. We routinely also for the toppings on the side so when we have left overs, we can easily reheat then at home and then add the toppings.Altogether, one of the better eating establishments in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
I placed an order at 5:30 for delivery. I was told 1hr and 15 minutes. I called at 7:30 and was told my order was canceled because it is bad out. It was crystal clear outside when I ordered. No call, no professionalism. I definitely won’t order from this location again. Basic communication could have gone a long way.
We ordered two pizzas, one large cheese, one large half pepperoni and half cheese. total was $37. When we go to pick it up there's a sign on the door that says $10 large pepperoni pizza. So we got charged almost twice as much for doing three quarters less work. Ridiculous.
This used to be good food. I love the Philly cheesesteaks, however, picked up an order on Friday. The bread was hard as a rock, the steak didn't even fill the bun. It was dry and hardly any cheese. There were hardly any fries. I paid 20 bucks, which is outrageous. Never again..
Customer service makes or breaks a dining experience. Not the food. Not the ambiance. The customer service. So, with that said, I can only give them a 2 star. If we go back, will likely only be take out. Experiences like this make me want to go in Customer Service Consulting. ?♀️The BBQ chicken and Papa Minsky pizzas were good. Ranch dressing was really tasty and the house green salad was a good size. The Mediterranean on zucchini crust was too salty but a pretty good unique combination of flavors.
I love Minsky's! Go there all the time. Great service. Delicious pizza! Sydney was an excellent waitress!
