I've been going to Highboy for over 40 years. It has always been great. Until the pandemic portion size has decreased. The prices have gone up. But I think that's happened everywhere. I Would still recommend.
Hi boy's really lost what they once had. Their shakes alone unfortunately won't be enough for me to continue paying $40 at the window. The burgers are flavorless now. I used to be up with the best of them
You can get the junior double cheeseburger, an order of onion rings and the large peanut butter fudge shake for about $15. Each one of those are amazing! Totally worth it!

We love coming here but wish there was some better customer service around accommodating paying customers. There is not consistency among the 24hwy location and 291 location, and being told we CANNOT pay EXTRA to have a limeade or shake with a kids meal seems a bit off..?
The dining room is still closed which is my only mark against them. Can still get the classic hiboy favorites thru the drive thru at least.
This place is an Independence staple, and I'm sure I've eaten here before as a kid. I stopped in for lunch recently and ordered a tenderloin and onion rings. When it is said that these are the best onion rings in KC, I would not argue. It's worth a trip to HiBoy just for the onion rings alone.The tenderloin was good, but I ordered that because I love tenderloins. I kinda regret not ordering the cheeseburger, though. That will be my next reason to go. That and the Peach Nehi. And, of course, those onion rings.

Good burguers, fast and efficient, the staff is very friendly and welcoming which is nice. One of the down sides is not many options, but keep in mind it is a burguer joint.
It's been years since my wife and I had visited here. Then the dining room was open and food, as well as the experience, were great. Order a chicken sandwhich and onion rings thru the drive thru earlier this week...almost $20 and it was terrible. Got back to work and opened the bag and threw it all away. Chicken sandwhich was rock hard over half of it. Onion rings old and chewy and squashed. Very disappointed. With businesses so short handed and only able to keep the drive thru open the food would be better quality. ?♂️ Lesson Learned.
