They were busy, and were out of stuff that I had I ordered. Overall the ice cream is always good.
Order a cake last night for my daughters birthday and we arrived the next day to pick it up and they did not make it and the only excuse was “we were busy” horrible service had us wait to get our refund, we’ve been coming to this location for over 10 years for all 3 of our children for cakes for their birthday and this is how they treat us and not make a cake and they said they couldn’t make it till tomarrow which my daughters birthday is today by tomarrow it wouldn’t be her birthday anymore. Horrible service and would not come again.
I went to here today with my family and wow. Everything was delicious and my family thought so too. Last time we went it wasn't a great experience and I had contacted the manager Jeff, and he definitely made this experience much better. I appreciate Jeff and how polite he was.
I don’t know enough words to accurately describe the level of disappointment experienced tonight. It’s hot right now. Like “I wish I owned an ice cream store” hot. So we went for ice cream right after dinner… obviously. Along with a bunch of other people. Obviously.Let’s start with flavor options. Chocolate? No. Vanilla? Sorry, we’re out.Ok Fine I’ll have the founders favorite in a waffle bowl.Sorry, no waffle bowls.Ok, waffle cone? Luckily they had 3 waffle cones left.It gets better! They then go to make the ice cream… all the ice cream being used is sitting out on the counter instead of the ice cream cooler. So it’s more like milkshake than ice cream. It gets better…Cold stone is (was) gray because they give you a heaping serving. Well, today they also gave us heaping servings, which immediately melted down the sides of the cups, which they placed on the counter covered in melted ice cream. They weren’t out of napkins so I used 15 or so napkins to wipe the milk sauce from the sides of the bowls while they watched me. I wrapped the bowls in several layers of napkins for the ride home, which didn’t matter because they immediately soaked into the bowl of milk in my hands and I spent the car ride home letting it pour onto my shirt and lap so that it wasn’t a total mess.By the time I got home, the bowls of pecans in milk were so covered in mess and milk soaked napkins that it ended up being a better use of time to throw them away.TLDR : you could go across the street to Menards and you’d have a better ice cream experience than going to this place.
This place has the absolute worst service I’ve ever seen. It was basically run by teenagers who were laughing and playing with a line all the way back to the door. One young lady actually stood there and ate ice cream while the other young lady made orders and ran the cash register by herself. The young man was basically walking back and forth to the back goofing off. They then cranked the music up so noticeably loud you couldn’t even hear to make an order. It is quite clear that these folks had no supervision at all. Several families actually got out of line and left. I will never spend a dime of my money in the Independence location again!!!!!
We visited this location on a Sunday evening approximately 7:30. There were several people in line ahead of us but not a huge line.We had to wait over 20 minutes to get through the line. There were 3 workers at the time but they were very slow. This was way too long to have to wait! The ice cream was very good though once we got it.
Close over an hour early but still have open sign up!! At least 8 cars turned away in 5 minutes
15 to 20 people there in the lobby. 3 employees....yet only 1 was making ice cream. Waited 30+ min, even though the one guy was diligently working. The ice cream is good. NOT six flags roller coaster line GOOD.
Ice cream was great, staff was friendly. Management should consider methods of using ALL employees to help clear a rush. Having only two out of 6 staff taking and making orders wasn’t the speediest of ways to clear the line.
Founders Favorite is the absolute best ice cream I have ever eaten
