Walking in, we were greeted by the smoke from the grease in the kitchen and a shady conversation between current employees and a former employee. Instead of entertaining the ex, the team should've focused on helping customers. One lady even came in from the drive-thru asking for a refund. We walked out smelling like grease. Couldn't eat in the restaurant due to the smoke. Food was hot, but salty and had no flavor.
Absolutely wonderful service and the food was amazing I’ve never had collard greens before and now that I’ve tried them oh my gosh they were delicious so thanks to the team at Charlie D’s you are awesome
I've always had good customer service here and my food taste delicious each time. My only complaint is that there's no consistency when it comes to ordering the daily lunch special. The menu says that it's available "every day of the week". Most of the cashier's will let me buy it on the weekend, but one young man told me that Sunday is not a day of the week so I couldn't get it. Just because Sunday is the weekend doesn't mean it's not a day of the week??♀️ I didn't want to argue so I just paid full price.
Ordered a FULL. Got maybe a quarter. Slapped a whole piece of fish in a frier. Unskinned, not even deboned. Too greasy and slimy to even eat.
I'm from St. Louis and I've been in Kansas City like 3 or 4 times. But Friday March 11, 2022 was the first time I had ever been to Charlie D's Express.I had the Catfish dinner and Chicken Wings with Green's and Sweet Potatoes. I don't know what y'all put in those Sweet potatoes but I want y'all keep doing whatever it is ya doing. Those we're the "BEST DAMN" Sweet Potatoes. I thought to myself somebody working here must be from Mississippi making Sweet Potatoes like this.I'm giving a five thumbs ups ?????I'll be back again for some more.
I pulled in because the church’s next door has a huge line and there was no line here. Now I see why. I Sat at the window for 25 minutes waiting for my food as the entire line at church’s cycled twice. After waiting for 10 minutes I requested my drink. Which was delivered another 5 minutes later. Horrible service. Eat elsewhere.
First time trying them the food is soo delicious! everything seasoned and cooked to perfection I ordered chicken fish okra hush puppies and Mac n cheese im soo happy I stopped lol ate too fast to get a picture oh yeah the prices are very affordable?
I have been 4 or 5 times and absolutely love it! The catfish is delicious! All the sides are good, especially loved dessert as well, we had carrot cake, peach cobbler, and sweet potatoe maple cheesecake -all good!
The food was OK. This was my first order. 5pc mixed. To me the Chicken is under seasoned. The skin was not crispy and had a slightly flourey taste. The red beans and rice and the cooker greens were kind of bland. The biscuit I received was light and fluffy but kind of gummy bread with no butter or honey to spread on it. The employee was great and brought my order to the curb. Worth the price for what you get. Just need to work on the seasoning and getting the chicken crispy.
