We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere can’t wait to come back!!! My husband had the salmon, rich and broccoli this was cooked to perfection! I had the fish tacos they were so good. Our desert was carrot cake & raspberry lemon cake they melted in our mouths. This restaurant gets 10 stars we absolutely love it!!!
This was my first time visiting Hendel's Cafe. Let me begin by giving Erin, my waitress a shout out! Upon my arrival she was very attentive and pleasant throughout my dining experience. Furthermore, when other guests came she remained on her "A-game!" Thank you Erin for giving me a pleasurable experience! As far as my meal, I ordered stuffed mushrooms ? for my appetizer. They were stuffed crab meat and cream cheese. ? yummy, yummy! Next, I ordered a turkey club and side salad for my main course. My sandwich was stacked so high, I could only eat half. My salad ? not only did it look fresh, it tastes fresh as well. Last but definitely not least, I ordered the salty crusted Carmel cake for desert, OMG! It was so moist and delicious ?, the Carmel was just right ✅️. I will definitely be back. I have to introduce my friends to Hendel's. I heard various co-workers and friends brag on this restaurant. I know exactly what they mean now. See you next time Hendel's!!!!!
Awesome lunch. Key west grouper is a must have. My wife had the fish tacos which were outstanding. Great food and service
More than 5 stars, if I could!! My friend and I had gyros, which were incredibly delicious! Our server was impeccable, friendly, fast and efficient. Cost for menu items matched perfectly to the presentation and composition of the food offered. The ambience was perfect for a beautiful sunny day. The interior is calm and relaxed yet bright enough to also keep things feeling alive and bubbly. Carefully placed wall art and interesting pieces of furniture plus farm-style chic in other areas, add character and charm at just the right level. After brunch we sat outdoors for a while and chatted on comfy rocking chairs facing a koi pond, which is apart of a opened up area fpr outdoor dining. Large floor fans, strategically placed, kept the exterior air cool and comfortable. There were stringed light bulbs on the awnings and I immediately made a mental note to visit again, at night, to catch them sparkling above:)
I've lived in Florissant mainly all of my life. This was my first time there (last night, 6/11/22) and it didn't disappoint whatsoever! Amazing food and atmosphere, nice waiter and good service! My server was Zach, and my friend and I both had Cajun Carbonara, spinach artichoke dip, and I had a Peach Sangria. I'm going back this week!
High marks all around. Warm, inviting ambiance. Pleasant and efficient wait staff. Fresh and flavorful food. Priced right. Wherever you are in town, it's worth the drive.
I ordered the Chicken Bacon Flatbread , a Reuben with fries and a slice of Carrot Cake online. The ordering process was simple. I received a text alert after placing the order and when my order was ready. My food was hot and fresh. The Reuben tastes pretty good but I could hardly taste the sauerkraut. The Flatbread is good but the bottom was a bit dark for my taste. The carrot cake was disappointing. The cake is moist which was great but the icing isn't traditional its whipped or something. I'm not a fan. This was my 1st experience with Hendel's, overall I'd say it's worth a try.
Went to Hendel's for a nice dinner and it far exceeded expectations! Great setting with fantastic staff. The food was the star of the show. I ordered the filet and it was easily one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. Steaks twice the price at other locations don't hold a candle to Hendel's. Go online and get on the waitlist before arriving. They don't take reservations and you may not expect it to be busy but trust me it will. Can't wait to go back!
Lovely place tucked away…never would have known it was there. Converted old home with lovely rooms. The menu was varied enough and the food was excellent. Service was great as well. Don’t intend to visit the area again any time soon, but if you find yourself in St. Louis check it out.
Located in an olde store located in the old downtown (very small town, not urban megopolis), this place is just charming ambiance to start with. Limited parking in back, but plenty of street parking, They had live music on the patio the night we were there, and I think that is pretty regular during nicer weather months. There is seating available inside, or on the tree shaded patio area, and also on a porch area which is protected from weather. We chose the porch, and it was great. Menu is what they show on their website, somewhat limited, but with enough variety that you will find something to please. They have mastered each of these items, rather than trying to do an adequate job on a larger list. The lettuce wedge was superb, just the right proportion of top quality ingredients, The fish tacos were also great nice chunks of properly prepared fish and other ingredients. Carrot cake was simply wonderful as well. We overheard one of the waitstaff talking with some apparently frequent customers commenting that she had been working there for 4+ years and loved it, and most of the other staff had also been there for very long times, including one or two dating back to the opening 20+ years ago. That sort of loyalty in the fickle food business is almost unheard of, but explains how they have nailed their niche and keep things at peak perfection. This is only 10-15 minutes north of the airport area, and easy to find with GPS, We are looking forward to our next visit to the St. Louis area so we can explore other options on the menu.
