Sophia is a great pasta place to eat. Different takes on pasta with free bread and Olive oil and when you sit down. Great service.
This is still a good place to eat with good service. The Ravioli Aragosta has significantly less seafood. Raise the price if necessary but keep the quality.
good food every time tho the asparagus could have been fresher the only thing that always sucks in their music but I love how friendly they are the presentation the family friendly apmosphere it's a nice place
Sophia's has been one of my favorite restaurants in Columbia for years. Tonight we dined there, with my mother, for the first time since Covid. What a let down. As our server led us to our table we were appalled by the fact that the floor was so sticky we thought our shoes were going to be pulled right off our feet. Ewwwww. Our server was pleasant but untrained. While removing our salad plate she accidentally spilled dressing all over our table and appeared to be unaware of it. When our meals were served, I asked would she mind wiping up the spill. She had to go back to find a couple of paper napkins to use to swipe the mess to the floor, leaving oily dressing still on the table. At least now we know why the floor was such as mess. The pancetta salad continues to be superb. We each had a different pasta and all were adequate but heavy on the cream and cheese, light on the protein (baked shrimp/roma tomatoes; seafood ravioli, smoked chicken penne). It was a good dinner, but not a great dinner. I was happy with the food but not so much with the service and quite disappointed in the cleanliness.
Sophia's is consistently our favorite Italian food in Columbia. The pasta is always great and they have a lot of fun sharing options as well. We also always have great, attentive service which is very appreciated.
Really poor customer service. We were visiting for regionals swim meet from out of state and read about restaurant on trip advisor. Called ahead to see if we could do reservation or call ahead for party if 10. Told no but wait wouldn’t be more than 15 min if we split up. Got to restaurant, put name and again offered to split up into two parties. Was told it would be out 30 minutes. Finally after several large parties which didn’t appear to be on property were seating ahead of us, we ask and they say “oh we are wiping of tables”(These is 40 minutes into the wait). I wait another 5 minutes after they seat more people. I tell them we athletes swimming at 6:30/7 am, we’ve either got to eat or leave. Man says I’ll talk to manager. Walks off, comes back, and tells me absolutelynothing just ignores me. What a frustrating unwelcoming experience. So disappointed.
This restaurant deserves a one star for being bluntly wasteful. The staff had made us the wrong order and said they would replace it for us. I followed up by politely asking what would happen to the wrong order and they told me it would go directly into the trash. It angers me that they would throw a whole plate of food out because the kitchen messed up. Furthermore, I do not recommend Ahi Tuna as it lacked both flavor and freshness. I am throughly disappointed and see no reason to come back.
Food was good, the server was great. The manager scolded the wait staff (my server in particular) in front of customers. Maybe idk what I'm missing but I don't believe blackened salmon (that evenings special) should cost $35 under any circumstances.
The pizza was NOT YUMMY. It was cold, the crust was like white bread, soft and flavorless. Not brown or golden or any color other than white. ☹️Drinks were good, appetizers were good, pizza just really missed the mark.
Food wasn’t tasty. Great service.
