This was our first visit to this location and second visit overall to Shakespeare's Pizza.I live in KC and have heard of Shakespeare's from MU grad friends. When my son and I travel to St Louis for taekwondo tournaments, Columbia is a well positioned stopping place. We've been dine in guests for Friday night dinner twice. The place was quite busy, but we were able to find seats without too much trouble. The wait was about 30 minutes each time. Not great, but not bad for the busiest time of the week. The pizza itself is good. It's not my favorite (sauce is a bit sweet and there's a lack of crust how they make it), but is still much better than any chain pizza. The vibe of the place is great and the staff is friendly and helpful. The inclusion of both Coke and Pepsi products is neat and something seldom seen. My son also really likes the reusable napkins they offer that look exactly like the shop rags we use in the garage at home. Overall, worth the stop and we'll probably venture to the third location downtown our next time through.
The pizza was excellent and loaded with toppings. The crust wasn’t too doughy. Great atmosphere. The staff looked to genuinely be enjoying themselves. The best part was getting a photo opportunity with the Danny DeVito cardboard cutout!
Great pizza every time. I love their Darwin! Also, they have some pretty solid beer options to go it your pizza.
Decent food, and was able to accommodate an extremely large group on short notice. Even with a big group, we got our pizzas quickly. No complaints!
Third best pizza in Columbia MO, but definitely the most COMO of all. A legend, a must if you're in Columbia MO.
Staff was very nice. Service was quick, probably too quick. The crust was very limp, couldn't hold with one hand or everything would fall off.Cheesy garlic beard, on the other hand was overdone and lacked garlic flavoring.I'll try another location next time to see if that's any better.
Consistent quality tasty pizza, consistently helpful efficient quirky employees, unique Shakespeare's ambiance duplicated well in this Westside location. No, it's not the original downtown 'Shakes - but technically the rebuilt downtown location isn't either - so this is a fine handy option. Friendly staff. Liked that there was a window to watch them make your pizza. It was decent pizza and good size salad
Met 2 other couples. Comfortable, relaxed conversation. Nice beer and cider selections. We had mix of pizzas… all good! My favorite: 5 toppings for price of 4 (2x pepperoni, Italian sausage, green olive and tomato). The large is LARGE! Easy place to visit w friends!
Usually never have a problem but ordered three pizzas to go tonight and was told it'd be ready by 6:00 I got them at like 6:07 which is not the problem. But when I got them and got them home they were COLD. I live maybe 1 mile 2 at the most away. They were cold as if they had been sitting out for a while. Definitely not the best experience this visit.
