My childhood consisted of this food, drove all the way to Columbia just to get some. The prices have increased slightly but it's still as good as ever. My favorite way to describe this food is top notch basic food it's very simple but it's so good.
Personally really enjoyed the food. love the atmosphere. Pro tip I didn't know till after I ordered you can order the fries extra crispy. Good reason to come back. Definitely will come again. Cash only.
Ahh Mugs Up... One of the best places to grab a bite to eat. My favorite would have to be a chili cheese dog plain, cheese fries plain, and a super orange to wash it down. When you ask for "plain" it just means no onions. I love how it's seasonal because it just makes you want it that much more and you don't get burnt out going. Usually a wait when you go but well worth it in my opinion. Just drive up and someone will take your order. And just a little FYI cash or local checks only no cards.
I love rootbeer, I love this type of food, and I had high hopes from what I’ve heard. Hands down one of the most disgusting meals I’ve ever had. None of my friends or I could finish. The chili is like dog food and the “zip” burgers were probably made of dog meat. Rootbeer was way too sweet. Nasty af.

I've never understood the cult following Mugs Up has. Is it just a nostalgia trip? Is it the novelty of a drive in? Mugs Up serves some of the most terrible food I've ever paid money for. If bland loose meat sandwiches, unsalted fries, & root beer so sickeningly sweet they should serve it with an insulin shot are your thing, this place may be for you.
I got chili cheese dogs and chili cheese Doritos the cheese was clumpy, barely melted it was salty. I remember this place used to be so good when I was a kid; it has definitely changed. Sonics has them beat at this point. This was not worth raising my blood glucose levels or blood pressure either. And on top of that the woman was so rude. Customer service was horrible. I didn’t get a greeting or a farewell. Very unwelcoming and I will not be back! And I should not have came this time because last time I ordered a root beer float and it tasted like it had pancake syrup in it!

Got a cheese zip burger (bbq cheeseburger) and a root beer. Burger was ok, a little too salty for my taste. But root beer is homemade and absolutely to die for. Food is cheap and good for the price. Waitress is very friendly. Plus the drive up is quaint. Definitely a local gem.(Please keep in mind that this place is cash or local checks only)
