Terrible service, tough meat and very expensive. We sat on the table side (not the grill) and ordered hibachi. Our waiter did not come by other than to take our orders and drop off our first drinks. We had to ask the hostess for drinks, a box and to cash us. Waiter was too busy talking at the bar through the meal. The restaurant itself looks pretty neat, but it was hard to enjoy with no air conditioning running on a 90 degree day. Entire place just smelled like sweat.Portions were generously sized, but everything was relatively bland and the chicken and steak (ordered medium rare) were incredibly tough and overcooked. Vegetables were probably the only good thing in the meal. Not worth the price.

The food was good. The "chef" was not interactive & fun with the guests at the table at all, except for when he spilled one guest's full glass of wine and splashed hot grease on my adult daughter's chest. We were a party of 5, there for my daughter's birthday. Would not recommend & will not return. It was the quietest & most boring hibachi dinner we have been to. I give 3 stars only because the food was good. Too expensive of a meal when you go for the experience & only get food.

Went here this evening for the first time. The restaurant was not that busy by the look of it. I’d say only 1/2 full. The waitress we got was nice. The issues came with the food. Our party of 2 ordered 2 hibachi meals, with crab Rangoons, and edamame, and we each ordered 2 sushi rolls. The rangoons were soggy like they were under cooked. Then when it came to our meals the chicken on my meal was as tough as shoe leather! After completing our hibachi and waiting for another 20 minutes we asked about the sushi rolls and was told that the ONE sushi chef they had, hadn’t even started on our rolls that we had ordered at the same time as everything else. So we asked for them to cancel them. To this the waitress stated “well we can just put them in a to go container”…. Um .. you are missing the point. We didn’t want to wait longer for them. This also seemed to be the trend for everyone, as we overheard multiple people complain that the sushi was taking too long. They need a second person making it!This could of all been overlooked and this review may not have happened until I saw the obvious violations of health codes…1. I witnessed one of the waitresses man handle a customers sushi roll with no gloves on after the same hand had been used to rub her nose…. Gross ?2. There was a worker behind the counter blowing her nose, not washing her hands after, and to make things worse—- she was LITERALLY in a onesie type of hooded pajama outfit. Earlier we had overheard her tell a grub hub driver that she wasn’t clocked in and was “just stopping by”… take your snotty nose somewhere else then!! It’s COVID season for Pete’s Sake!My total is ended up being $80 and it was definitely not worth it for poor service and gross food.. I will NOT be back! And I understand that the world is understaffed at this point but this is unacceptable…

NEVER GOING BACK!! Tonight we decided to take my daughter out to Kobe for a birthday dinner. In the past we have done this and had a great time, they gave a great fruit dessert and took our photo for a card so we decided to come back, well it was completely different. When we first sat down we let our waiter know it was my daughters birthday and he promised a cheesecake desert, which sounded perfect. Then the cook came out and he barley put a show on at all he didn’t do the onion fire or anything he just cooked the food and moved on and sorry if I am mistaken but I believe the point of going to Kobe is to have a fun show but nope didn’t happen. As soon as the cook got done the waiter came back and immediately started pressuring us to leave, we had just got our food! The waiter never refilled our drinks, and never checked on how the food was. Then he came back and let us know there was no cheese cake left after promising my daughter a slice, he didn’t even offer a replacement just gave a big “too bad”. The food was also way worse and over priced. For four people it was $120.00! And the waiter literally did not have the decency to even grab the cups correctly instead he held them by the top where we drank.

Usually love going here but things were different this time. The cook/chef didn't do the normal things and barely talked to us. Also after we ate and he turned off the vent cold air was rushing over our table, everyone at our table was talking about it! The food was good but once he walked away all of our food got cold.

We ate there this evening- we were one of the first there at 4 and got seated very quickly but waited over an hour for a chef to even come to the table to start while other tables got started and got there after us. We had to track down our waiter multiple times and multiple people at the table were ordering alcohol and wanted more drinks but had to ask other waitresses to ask our waiter to come to the table. I definitely think they looked at the three groups of people at our table and made a judgement that we wouldn’t tip or something along those lines. We watched out waiter be very attentive to another table. Extremely rude!! The food was amazing- but the chef did not do the show that’s typical for that kind of restaurant and we literally watched the same chef go to the next table and do the show for them while he did nothing for us. Completely mindblown. I’m a good tipper if the service is good.. they lost themselves a good tip from all of us at that table. Long story short.. don’t judge a book by its cover. Very disappointed. Aside from the food being very good it was definitely disappointing to be at a restaurant for over 2 hours because you can’t get drinks/to go boxes/your check, ect.On top of everything I own a cleaning business and the bathrooms definitely need cleaned better. Very very dirty for a “high end” restaurant and the floors were very sticky/dirty.

Damon did a great job. He was distracted by something he admitted wasn't his job so we didn't get our salads. I guess there isn't soup either anymore or we didn't get them. The food was still good. The one that ran the grill did a wonderful job entertaining the children. Wasn't the best experience but guess it could have been worse.

i could not find the antonym of good service but it certainly applies to KJS. in the time of covid, if you force strange people to dine together you need to make the dinner a social event. KJS fails on all levels. food is mediocre and we had two b-days at our table which were not recognized at all. chef's duty to get a round of singing and maybe a cup of ice cream with a candle. these folks need to go to chicago or new york and see what a real jap steakhouse does. it seemed that they had a chef at another table who was working it pretty good but i wouldn't go back unless they let you pick.

Came in with my daughter. They moved us from a table of people to a table by ourselves. They continued to sit people at larger tables. They filled 4 tables up completely and served them while my daughter and I continued to sit solo and wait for service. Not sure why we got moved and ignored. It's been 70 min while we watch everyone eat.

Customer service/assistance could be better instead of employees not acknowledging you when you are waiting to be seated. The cooks are excellent and extremely friendly and like to play a huge role when kids are around!
