Been about 3 times this year. Used to love this place but the consistency seems off. The spice level of 1-10 seems to vary. The place usually has more people than the server yes server singular feels comfortable with. I’m pretty sure she was crying because the boss yelled at her out she dropped something or whatever but it’s not a pleasant running experience when you feel like the staff is stressed out. Plus they don’t serve alcohol and it would be nice to have a beer without your plate of pad Thai.
I've ordered from here a few times over the past two weeks and really enjoy the Duck with Red Curry. I want to order a few other things on the menu but can't seem to do that knowing how good the red curry is over the rice...YUM! My only complaint is that it's sometimes hard to find parking close to Chim's since it's downtown, but it's worth the walk from a distant parking spot for sure.
Chim's is the best Thai food in the area. When they say everything is good they mean it. I have been quite a few times and always get at least 1 thing new and it is always really good. I have yet to find something on the menu that I don't like. It's family owned and run and they are always extremely helpful and courteous. We drive about 40+ minutes to eat hear and I don't plan on stopping.
I am a door dasher I went inside to grab a drink that was missed on my delivery and there was a women walking in and out if the kitchen with a baby that was no more than 7 months old. This concerns me because not only does it go against food safety but it's not safe for the baby either. I understand the struggle of childcare but I wouldn't bring my child to work in a kitchen in a busy workplace. And I called 6 times before I arrived with no answer and again I understand busy moments but when I arrived there were at least two workers that could have answered the phone. I have not personally tried the food so I have no comment on that.
It's a really nice place to eat, they have a spicy scale, be careful because it's really spicy (and I love spicy food)
I walk in the girl says hi and sits behind the counter and looks at her phone, walks right by me standing there does not ask if I need anything, puts on a coat and goes out to smoke. Since when did smoking a cigarette is more important than the customer?
I got pineapple rice which tasted a bit burnt or like the grill itself not great. But the steamed pot stickers with sauce were good ? ?
Jasmine was so helpful and kind, one of the nicest waitresses I've ever met! We got potstickers, pad Thai, and drunken noodles - all of which were amazing! Especially the sauces, unique and delicious.
The egg rolls were burnt, the cups re filthy, the pad Thai with chicken was inedible. Sweet heavens the chicken in the pad Thai was disgusting. I wasn’t sure if it was spoiled or what! at least the waitress was very sweet.
The Thai food was nothing special. The pad thai lacked a unique flavor. The sweet and sour fish was alright. We had to order a different fish as they did not have our preferred choice. What I really disliked was the calamari. The batter that was used made it extremely oily. The calamari also did not have a fresh taste to it.
