The staff at 44 Stone Public House were super friendly. I’m coming back to try the rest of the menu, especially the burgers and the beer for sure. However, the food I had so far was not great. The steak was okay, a little underseasoned. Mashed potatoes were cold, dry and underseasoned as well. Not a fan of the onions on top nor the sauce (don’t remember if this was a sauce for this particular steak but it tasted way too sweet and just did not pair well). The pasty was a little better, although I think the chicken stuffing was - again - underseasoned!
Tried the 44Stone burger and it was fabulous with the whiskey based sauce! I have friends in the UK, Ireland, and Scotland who told me about Concannon and they were not exaggerating. it's amazing. My wife had the vegetable curry with grilled chicken and loved it, as well. Extensive beer and ale menu. Not terribly expensive. Linen napkin place, not a fast food place.
Best food in Columbia. We love the Seoul Disco Fries, chicken pasty, chicken curry, rarebit, and the fried cake is OMG! Loads of drink choices. It’s a miss try.
This is a place where handmade hamburgers and fish and chips are delicious. It is more interesting because I can taste about 50 beers. Whenever I come here, I want to taste a different beer.
We just happened on this great restaurant. Some unusual dishes but they have a pub flair without getting too crazy with the ingredients. Try the Chicken and Leek Pasty. (Pronounced PASS TEE). Incredibly delicious. The burgers are phenomenal. The best part was the reasonable prices. Stop in for a Pint on tap and a gastro experience to remember.
We enjoyed a nice pint, sandwich and the Ploughman's lunch. It's a great spot in Columbia that seemed to be slightly more upscale than the usual spots.
Food is amazing! Huge selection of beers and liquors. Super authentic pub setting and very friendly staff. 10/10 every day of the week. Been going here for years and we love it. The pub fritters are my favorite!
Best British fare in town! Incredible whiskey selection. The beer selection has been affected by the pandemic, but it was incredible in the before times. Top 5 best burger in town. Get the pub fritters!The food travels pretty well too and they have a great online ordering site
As Brits we were excited to have some real 'pub grub' as it's some of the best in the UK. One of those in the kitchen was in fact from Manchester so it was pretty good as fish and chips goes over here and even the mushy peas puree was pretty authentic. It's the first time we've found haddock over here and it was great! The batter was also light for a change and chips not the usual oven fried. The servings were large and the service very gracious. The seating was well spaced and we'll be back again when we can to be sure. Looked like the deviled eggs are a big hit here.
Excellent dinner for a group of us in for a conference. They belgian ale was excellent. I had the fish and chips which were not greasy. Worth a try if you’re in COMO
