We dined at Walnut Grill for our 5th wedding anniversary last night based on the recommendation of my local mom group. Going out is rare for us now that we have children so we were looking forward to visiting and having some time out: Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to the hype.Most of our experience was spent just waiting around. Waiting around to order drinks, waiting around to order food, waiting around for our waiter to bring us our check. The table next to us finally stood up to get the waiter’s attention to ask if they could place an order.My husband ordered chicken and waffles. What was brought to him was chicken and French toast. I ordered a 6 oz sirloin steak cooked medium. I was brought an extremely well cooked steak.Why didn’t we bring this to the attention of the wait staff? Because they couldn’t be found and when we did see them, they practically ran past our table while mumbling, “Everything look good?”The food was still decent and we ate it, mainly because we waited nearly 45 minutes for it to come out and we were starving. Regardless, it was still disappointing.The waiter did discount our meal $10 with a note “Thanks for your patience! :)” so we’ll give him that, but a verbal apology would have gone a lot further.

Food and service were very good. However, they were out if several items and admitted they only had one cook. They actually closed their doors around 5:30 pm due to lack of staff.

We had a 7:45 reservation, that’s all we could get, we got there at 7:15, so we could have a drink before dinner, the place was half empty, I assume they were very short staffed, we got seated by 7:20, took awhile to get a server to our table to order drinks and an appetizer. Our server was working very hard and took care of multiple tables, food was very good and we will go back. Where are all the workers?

Good food. Ayla was fantastic. Very attentive and personable.

The worst meal I have had in a restaurant in a long time. I know bad food when I eat it. I own a restaurant. First, the food brought had all obviously been micro waved. Pork rib special. The temperature of everything could not have been that hot without micro waving. The ribs were so tough you couldn’t cut them with a knife. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had been coked by micro wave alone. Sides were also horrible!!!

Our entrees had a hair in two of them. Presentation was amazing. When a restaurant is out of items it should be posted at every table. We had a table of 6 and three times when someone tried to order when the waiter returned to the table they were out of it. We understand being out of items but it is ridiculous to make a table wait for over 30 minutes to order when it could have all been prevented! We won’t be back or recommend for others.

The service was average. There were four of us dining two of our meals were over cooked the other two were very good. The waiter did not charge for the overcooked food. Overall not the most satisfying dining experience.

The table service was outstanding. Waiting for our food, not so much. Given the current labor shortages, allowances are necessary.

Excellent service!!!! Our waitress was very friendly and did an outstanding job.

Service we had was excellent. Our waitress went way beyond helping us with our apps for our rewards program. She was very attentive!
