What a fantastic choice for a quick bite near Spirit. Easily some of the best BBQ I've had in years. The owner was generous and professional, and I have no doubt I'll be back on my next quick stopover.Their meat is so perfectly seasoned and cooked; everything is fork tender. By the end I stopped using their sauce, which is by no means a diss to their sweet and hot mixes, they were delectable. It's just that I wanted to pay full attention to the meat itself, which in my experience at least, has no competition.
The stellar hog is worth a try. We ordered brisket and turkey. It was only ok. I would be willing to go back and try a few other menu items but wouldn't go back for these. Slow service to get our order in but that is the norm now.
I Love St Louis BBQ and this is one of my new favorites. Right up there with Salt& Smoke, and Bogarts. Sunday, they do beef ribs and it was truly incredible.
There is limited outdoor seating and limited indoor seating. It appears most business is probably take out from this location. It was a beautiful day so, my friend and I ate outside. There's not much to look at, just a parking lot in the strip mall. The food was good. For a restaurant with no ambiance and higher pricing the best I can do is four stars. When you get your expansion, get a theme and decoration going to improve the atmosphere.
My father-in-law picked up pulled pork and brisket from The Stellar Hog for our Superbowl get-together. It came with two types of sauces - an Original Sauce and a Carolina Sauce. The BBQ was fantastic. We have been ordering from Super Smokers for years. The Stellar Hog was very delicious. They bbq some of the best pulled pork I have ever had. It's super moist and flavorful. Everyone at dinner couldn't stop talking about the pork. If you like Super Smokers, Charlotte's Rib, Pepper's Deli, and/or Iron Barley's High Hog Ridge you'll really like the pork at The Stellar Hog. Looking forward to trying more on their menu. The brisket is a decent serving size but with the price of things these days I'd just go straight for the ?.
Sooo good! I had the ribs and cream cabbage. It was the best. The service was awesome too. We will definitely be back!
Awesome food and great people. They accidentally made a mistake on my sandwich and they immediately made me a new sandwich with no hesitation. Told me to keep the mistake and then gave us a sample of their salami which rocked. We are from the KC area and this is some killer BBQ. Had both brisket and pastrami which were excellent. Highly recommend you give it a try!
After eating BBQ during a recent trip to Atlanta, I was skeptical this place could beat it. I can safely say the Stellar Hog was truly STELLAR. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great BBQ in the St. Louis area. It is well worth driving for and the staff were phenomenal.
We got the pork ribs, prime ribs, and brisket and each was very good. Beware that their pork ribs have some sort of glaze. We were told that if you call the day before, they'll make them with a dry rub. We haven't tried those yet, but definitely will soon.
Delicious food! I know its not typical but we are trying to cut down carbs and I really liked the sides here! We tried the cabbage, the brussel sprouts, and the seasonal vegetables. They were all really good and didnt have added sugar. I had forgotten to ask about keeping the sauce on the side but thats the way it came! Brisket and pulled pork were really good to. Cant wait to try more next time!
