We had a great dinner tonight! We get takeout from a different restaurant every Friday, so Babbos was our choice tonight. The El Pietro salad was good and plenty for two. The bruschetta was a meal in itself, with tons of tomatoes, basil, and shaved parmesan. We shared an order of shrimp scampi pasta, and we had enough for one of us (me!) to have lunch tomorrow. Everything was seasoned well and hot, and it was ready within 20 minutes of calling in the order. We will definitely be back!
Friday night, 5/27/22 went to what use to be our favorite place, Babbo's Chesterfield.I have heard that they are as not as good as they use to be, but we liked Babbo's so much we went anyway. Our mistake was we did not listen to our friends. The lasagna and pizza was terrible!!! Totally tasteless!! The lasagna was not hot, no taste at all and was not cheesy. It was like who was preparing the dish just forgot to put any seasoning in the dish. They had change bread that is served with the meal. It was horrible! The pizza looked OK, but also lack any seasoning at all.Our waiter was fine, so we tipped him our usual 20%. We will not be going back to Babbo's any time soon. I can not see them staying in business serving food like that for any length time.
So glad we tried Babbo's, the wait was short, the service great and the food was wonderful. Will definitely be back
Delicious! The bread was fresh and our main dishes were wonderful! My husband thought the lasagna was the best he has ever been served.
This place had been on my list to try for awhile but I never made it over. The service was great, the server was very attentive and professional. The Caesar salad was good, the breadcrumbs were different but I would have preferred crouton. The lasagna was amazing and the portion is gigantic. I had the leftovers for breakfast the next day and I swear it was even better. Definitely will be returning soon.
We found Babbo's by chance when we couldn't get into another restaurant and we were so glad that we did. The atmosphere is very welcoming and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the waits were not long but the restaurant was full. The food was great and piping hot but what we enjoyed the most was the delicious bread. Will definitely be back.
Last night was our first & last visit to Babbos. The bread was cold & hard as a rock. While the pasta had ok flavor, there was a very small amount of it & the sauce was so liquidity that it dripped right off. We asked for an extra side of noodles and it came out in a bowl full of water & we were charged $10 for it. We were surprised at the prices based off the amount of pasta we were given.
Had an awesome experience! Food was fantastically great. Wonderful waitress. Definitely visiting again soon.
I order bruschetta had to return it was not good the bread was so hard you could not bite into it returned it and then served cold and no balsamic vinegar on it the place nice the waitress nice but I won’t go back I took the toasted raviolis home with me
We were fooled by the full parking lot Babbo's shares with Syberg's and almost didn't try to get a table. We are so glad we ventured in on a cold January night! Babbo's is part of the Michael del Pietro restaurant group, and the red sauce is made from scratch, the parmesan cheese is shaved, and the salad is one of St. Louis' finest.
