We were just in town for the night and our hotel recommended the Southerner. We had the best dinner my husband and I had ever had...hands down. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was beyond our expectations. The shrimp and grits was heaven and my husband said the catfish was the best We also got the meet one of the owners and she couldn't have been nicer. We will definitely make it a must to eat there again when we are in town!!!!
Absolutely loved this place. Great service and even better food
They take good food and completly ruin it with what I believe they think is a sophisticated spin on Southern food. Their fried green tomato BLT is a perfect example of this. It might taste good if you could actually taste it, but all you can taste is that disgusting sauce they've spread all over it. Not only is disgusting, but it is literally the only thing you'll taste when eating it.
If you need a caterer for your wedding, book The Southerner!!!! Everyone absolutely RAVED about our food. The staff made everything absolutely wonderful from set up, during, break down, etc. We did not have to lift a finger. Thank you!!!!
If I could give the delicious food a five star and the service a no star I would. Maybe if someone else had been our waitress but we had a really bad experience for our first and possibly our only visit.
Arrived about 5:00 without reservations getting towards 6:00 it got busy. Very friendly staff seated right away they bring out a really cool selection of bread and butter pickles. House cornbreads very good. Started with a really wild craft cocktail it was a bacon bourbon bloody Mary... Very tasty. Had blackened Redfish for main course well prepared wonderful sauce diced sausage had a side of the mac and cheese. Dinner with a nice Riesling that got through the heat of the redfish. Wait staff is there at just the right times. Other diners seem to be really enjoying themselves.
Server was amazing and kind. Food was bland and unimpressive.
Their catering service was fantastic and the food was delicious.
I’m very fond of The Southerner. The brussel sprouts are made with bacon and onion, the savory flavor smells and tastes amazing. The meatloaf is really good too. I did not take a photo of the meatloaf of brussel sprouts, but I did get a photo of the Crispy Fried Pickle slabs. They were delicious. The catering here is great too. Definitely check this place out.
Great restaurant attached to the Drury Inn. Had the chicken taco’s, they were very good.
