We went for our anniversary lunch and everything was ok. Service was ok. Food was ok. Hubby had the prime rib sammy and onion rings. He paid extra for cheese and peppers. The cheese was invisible and there maybe was a tablespoon of peppers. The prime rib was thick cut not shaved as explained by our server. I had the catfish and potatoes. The only winner was the catfish. It was tasty. The place is old and needs a good cleaning. A lot of dust bunnies on the ceiling just waiting to drop in your food. Our server was nice just didn't check on us very much. We didn't have our drinks refilled for the longest time. We were all excited after reading the reviews however for us this experience left a lot to be desired. Probably won't be coming back.
We drive a few hours to explore the city since we've never been. We decided on this adorable restaurant and got a wide sampling of what they offered: Canadian approved brisket poutine, fired catfish, Fried okra, Bellaire potatoes, smoked asparagus, dry rub st louis style ribs and a house salad. Nothing was bad or poorly prepared. Excellent food and WONDEFUL friendly staff.
Was reccomended by hotel staff and we could not dissagree more. Ribs were dried out, brisket was shaved and pan warmed with bbq sauce, the only thing my wife and actually ate was smoked sausage. 3/4 of brisket and all but 2 ribs were left on plate and waitress did not blink when told we did not want it to go. When asked if food was good she got a eeh from us both. Worst hundred dollar meal for 2 ever.
Met up with a friend here for dinner and drinks based on the reviews we saw online. The staff was super friendly and our meal was pretty good. Would definitely stop here again if I was in the area.
So we were sat quickly and we were accommodated when we added an extra person to the table. That's where the good stopped. We were barely waited on in the nearly hour and 45 mins it took to get our food. When it finally came it out was cold. I sent some back and then just said I didn't want a replacement, as I feared it would take another hour to get it. I saw many people come and go, getting their food and leaving, while we were sitting wondering where our server was. Eventually I had to go to the front, and ask where our food and server was. I will say, if you're in the mood for ice cream, stop by. Otherwise, pass on the food and the service.
We really enjoyed the food and drinks here and had wonderful service! I got perfect recommendations from our server for lunch and beer. Pretty neat older building with some history and everything was priced very well. We'd definitely revisit if in the area again.
Food was delicious and atmosphere was great by the tracks and river.
I go to Port Cape every time I visit Cape Girardeau. I have to get the Bellaire potatoes. So good! This time I got the flat top burger lunch special. It was excellent! Service is always so nice and love the old bar atmosphere. Must visit!
The bbq was delicious and definitely request the rolls with strawberry honey butter. The honey mustard bbq sauce and white bbq sauce were delicious as well. Fast, friendly service!
Staff was very friendly and competent. Muffuletta was made with a Chabatta and the meat seemed old...the Gardianara was actually just Kalamatta and green olives cut in half...the Reuben on the other hand was good and the kraft may have even been house made...hand cut fries were tasty but wilty. Not enough wow to warrant another visit
