We happened into the Historic area by accident on returning from an outing. We walked around and decided to give this place a try. It was busy so figure that was a good sign. We had about a 20 minute wait. We wandered around the store next door then sat on benches located outside. Great variety of food & great service. My husband and I had 2 different choices and we both throughly enjoyed both. The biscuits that came with our meal were amazing as well. I have made the comment if we have time I want to go back. Just some great home cooked food that was great. Nothing fancy here, but it’s not needed!!
Lovely spot for lunch or dinner. Great atmosphere, great service and the food was terrific. Had a ham stake that was LITERALLY half the size of my plate. Biscuits are to die for! Loved the mason jar glasses. Will come back again.
Good food with reasonable pricing. We have visited here many times. Ample portions. Easy to get to. Parking on the street.
They have a policy not to sit you until everyone is there, even if they have empty tables. Girl got a little rude with my wife over that, it could have been handled better. I guess because parking is so bad, they have had lost customers. once the food came it was quite good.
Took a bit to get seated but well-worth the wait. Excellent chicken fried steak with white gravy! Sweet potato fries were thin cut and delicious. Wish we had room for one of their desserts. Flavored iced teas were special— and didn’t cost double just cause they were flavored.
The service was great fast and friendly food was excellent I would definitely recommend this place to everyone also not really a breakfast guy and this is one place that will serve lunch items early in the day went here around 7:30 8:00 in the morning as long as it can be fried grilled they're willing to make it for you thanks for a wonderful experience. I love the fact that they serve the drinks in mason jars.
We've been here several times over the years. Local diner flavor, super friendly people under pressure to serve the masses in a small place.I love what they did with the salad bar!
Good Breakfast. Clean surroundings. Parking is a bit of a challenge. Nothing on the menus was unexpected, but nothing was disappointing. Service was acceptable but not extraordinary. I would come back for breakfast, but not break my neck to get there.
Delicious meals. We were not disappointed. The food was great. Catfish was crispy with great tasting coating. Southern fried steaks was so tender and tasty. Also enjoyed the burgers, big and juicy. Took cobbler home to have later and it was awesome too. Shawn was an excellent waiter. We will be back.
Had breakfast for lunch and enjoyed the high quality from a place that is constantly packed with locals who clearly know where to find good food and a good price. There's a great little gift shop upstairs with chairs for the 15-20 minute wait to get a table -- but it's worth the visit then you're looking for high quality food with local pride.
