It was a little difficult to find off the Interstate If it helps it is just behind Walgreens. Wanted something quick. It different for lunch. My husband ordered seafood gumbo, be aware it has claws in it. I ordered sausage and chicken gumbo. We both ordered a bowl which we were unable to finish but a cup probably would not have enough. It was ok. Staff was very pleasant and efficient.

Nice spot for fresh good food. Friendly server staff and owner. Great tasting homely cooked food for very affordable price. Way better then fast food around area. Grits and shrimp and catfish with house crawfish sauce is nice. There daily special is just a great choice if you wanna eat everyday!!Do not forget to try there white chocolate bread pudding!! You will surely take some home for friends and family!!

I highly recommend the Crawfish Pie with the side of Crawfish Etoufee. Amazing and so delicious. We also got the trio of gumbo/bisque/etoufee. Left feeling very satisfied.

My wife and I use both Tripadvisor and I Exit apps to find local restaurants when traveling on Interstate highways. I Exit shows us what is close to all the exits and we can look 100 or more miles down the road to see what is convenient for when we think we will be ready to stop. We then research the restaurant on Tripadvisor and based on the reviews, make a decision to stop or not. This process brought us to The Gumbo Pot on our recent trip. Our meals were delicious. I ordered the cup of gumbo/1/2 blackened shrimp po'boy sandwich for lunch that came with a side salad. My wife ordered their blue plate special lunch that had 11 blackened shrimp, her choice of two sides, a beverage and banana pudding for dessert. We wound up sharing the banana pudding and it was excellent. Jacie was our waitress for the meal and did an outstanding job making sure we were well taken care of. Was able to talk to the owner for a couple minutes about his restaurant and he graciously provided us two orders of their bread pudding to go. Said it was a family recipe. My wife and I heated them up in our hotel room's microwave that night and hands down it was the best bread pudding we have ever had. This restaurant is definitely on our list of places to stop at when travelling through Vicksburg at meal time.

We wanted local flavors and found the food and service both good. We each had catfish; one with etouffee and one with “delta sauce” which was basically the same but with a cream cheese base. He was mildly disappointed with the green beans but we both loved the lightly breaded, non greasy onion rings. The discovery of the night, however, was #colsonbeer. Delicious! And went perfectly with the food.

the pork chop was ok and the shrimp alfredo was horrible. My husband took 2 bites and couldn't eat anymore. I tasted it and i couldn't do it either. The coleslaw was ok too! The people were very nice. I would not return.

I enjoyed eating at the Gumbo Pot during my visit to Vicksburg MS. I had the fried shrimp, oysters, catfish and white chocolate bread pudding. Of course I couldn’t go the Gumbo Pot and not try the gumbo. It was alright, the taste was different than I’m use to. Although the shrimp and fish was good, I think that the oysters and the white chocolate bread pudding was my favorite. There’s a variety on the menu to please everyone in your group. I would definitely go again when in the area.

My husband and I was traveling from Atlanta Ga, back to Fort Worth Texas and we stopped in Mississippi to get rest, and have have dinner. We decided to try Gumbo Pot because it wasn't that far from our Hotel. We looked on line at the menu do that we would know exactly what we wanted when we arrived at the restaurant. We get there and go inside and it was so crowded that we couldn't even see the counter. Finally we realized that it was covered by ppl waiting for a table and ppl trying to place an order. We finally get up there to order. And she takes our order, we tell her it's a " to go" order, and then says "do you want to tip us now?" So my husband gives her a $5.00 tip for taking our order. She tells us it's going to be about 25 minutes so we decided to wait outside, only because she said when upur order is ready we will call you inside to get it. So after 20 minutes my husband says, I'm going inside to be there when our order is ready he goes inside and the food was just sitting on the counter and no one thought to even call us inside to get it! ? But you wanted your tip ahead of time ? won't do that again. You'll get your tip after we get our meal. That was poor customer service in my opinion. This guy was standing in there waiting for his order told us our meals had been up there on the counter for at least 5 to 6 minutes ?? I'm giving them a 3 only because the food was great. Fried Catfish, French fries Roll, and hush puppies. The food was great and I definitely would recommend this restaurant, only thing is customer service was not that great ?

Went for Cajun/southern food. Well all our meals were bland! Seemed like the three waitress’ were trying to help each other but each didn’t know our orders so we were sending them back many times for missing items. Very pricey for what we got!

Stopped while traveling through since it was close to the exit and had plenty of parking. It was Friday evening so there was a 5-8 minute wait. After being seated our waitress promptly got our drink orders.Wife had the bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo; gravy was fantastic. I had the fried catfish which was Greg and tasty with rice & beans (it was okay) and the bread was simply delicious and should’ve had a few more rolls lol.
