I can’t tell you how many places we eat and enjoy the food but the service is lacking. At Forklift, the waitstaff has always been good and is almost always Great! I love it when a server is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food they are serving. Tonight I had the octopus and loved if. My husband had the lobster Mac and while we don’t usually take home leftovers, he made an exception tonight! Thanks for a great meal!
Let me tell you something: we have been on a 15 day driving tour of the SE US and visited some of the most revered restaurants in foodie cities such as Charleston and New Orleans, but on the way home, we both agreed that the best overall meal was April 30th at Forklift in Tupelo! We just buzzed in for a quick trip to “The Birthplace” and needed some food. Honestly, we expected to eat at Whataburger or something similar, but we found some lovely restaurants in Tupelo and choosing Forklift was serendipitous and we are grateful for the expertly crafted cocktails, the 5 star service and the very memorable meal. So memorable that I will be sending a letter to Southern Living magazine. If they haven’t featured Forklift, they should.
Told me they were overwhelmed & refused to serve a party of 2 at 8:15 and the kitchen closes at 9
One of my favorite spots in Tupelo! Never had a bad time or meal here.
Excellent short rib.
Loved the atmosphere. Little Pricey. The thing I liked the least is it was pouring down rain and you had to park in the back and walk to the front. There was a back door but only for employees. I was soaked coming in and soaked going out.
Took my husband here for his Birthday dinner. Both the fried green tomatoes and the Risotto bites were amazing appetizers. The marinara sauce was so good! The pork cheeks and the Duck were exceptional, mouth watering entree choices. The jalapeno peach margaritas were over the top! Top notch food, service and cocktails! This was our 2nd visit. We'll be back! Keep up the good work!❤❤❤
Shrimp & gritsCajun nachosBoth were really good. Cool spot nice selection of bourbon
Absolutely delicious. The trout was one of the best dishes I’ve had in Tupelo. Brussels sprouts were delightful. They were perfectly cooked and complemented every other component on the plate. The trout was topped with a visibly herbaceous cilantro lime butter, which added just the right amount of decadence to this otherwise pristinely healthy and virtuous plate. I can’t wait to go back.
So to start from the beginning, our reserved table was given to another party. We had to wait for them to move the other party even though we had just reserved. Secondly we waited 20+ minutes before we were even asked our drink orders. When we ordered, the waitress didn’t even ask how we wanted the steak cooked and it came out extremely rare. We asked to have to cooked to our likening but still lacked in flavor. Other than that our other meals were good.Mind you our party included four children and four adults. We did not order anything crazy or many substitutions. We saw the waitress when we ordered and when she came to receive payment. They tacked on a mandatory tip of 30 dollars based on our party size. Guessing 2-3 per drink would put us about 24 dollars for drinks. Coming down to that 40 dollars for 4 grilled cheeses and fries. We did not feel that 30 dollars was an earned tip considering it took them so long for drinks and an hour for food. We didn’t even have silverware until our food was almost gone. disappointing for a 4.5 start rated restaurant.Sorry to say that even though majority of our meal was good we won’t be returning.
