The two tamale dishes are pretty good, the two burritos I had were bland, and the tacos were good.The "P5 burrito" with just chicken was bland, the queso providing the only flavor. The other burrito was a steak and chicken mix, it wasn't bad but I was never told that would be an extra $3, that meal wasn't worth the $20 for a coke and burrito.The tacos were tacos. Not bad, not great, but you may as well go to La Terraza. Their tacos are better for pretty much the same price.Also, pretty much expect to walk to this place. Parking in the Cotton District for all intents and purposes doesn't exist.Overall, the food isn't bad. But the lack of parking and the flavor/taste ratio isn't worth more than 3 stars. If you drive by and see one of the eight parking spaces are open, get the tamales. Otherwise go somewhere else.
I love this place, best selection of street tacos as well as other great food! I'll be honest tho, one of the tacos I got wasn't great, only because they put very dry meat on it. I'm thinking they just forgot to stir the meat while in the pan before serving it. Other then that, the margaritas ? were amazing and all the other tacos I got were perfection on a fresh home made corn tortilla!
A friend got the Molcahete!! It was huge!!! Food is so good. The room is loud but everything else is so great!!!
Cole has got to be the most knowledgeable well-season bartender probably in Mississippi. He is very street savvy and knowledgeable. There is no doubt these are the best tacos probably in the southeast . Nevertheless, the quality of margarita here you won’t find anywhere in the United States. However, this is a must stop. 2 words “scallop tacos.” Mix and match 4 different tacos. Fresh squeezed juice nothing artificial in the margaritas! Have fun Cole is a professional enjoy talking to him! His wife is one of the best waitresses I know in Starkville! With him bartending and her waiting tables it’s a fine establishment for anyone rather it’s football season or not.
Absolutely amazing!! Best quesadilla I’ve ever had. Portion size is HUGE (quesadilla was the size of my head) and the service was perfect. Received food within 5 minutes and waiter was great. Would definitely recommend!
We got here and it was really warm, we asked if we could find a cooler spot to sit and were told the owner (we’ll call him “Dave”) doesn’t let anyone adjust the AC if “Dave” isn’t there. It’s absurd to be honest, “Dave” sounds like a crazy cheapskate from that one detail. Don’t come here if you get uncomfortable in the hot or cold, it could be either and the employees have no way of helping you. Our zone was 10° hotter than the outside, a few seats down it was almost 20° hotter. We were also constantly swatting flies, as the doors are left open.
As good as any Mexican food I’ve had in the southwestern US. Probably the best street tacos in Mississippi.
Try this tasty little place In the old cotton district grill building. The tacos are amazing, but so is everything else.
