I stopped by Starkville on my way back to New Orleans from West Point last Wednesday about an hour before closing time. I heard good things about this restaurant so I thought I would give it a shot. The place was clean and homey like a country store. The guy at the register was polite and answered all of my questions. He recommended the blackened shrimp cheese fries so I ordered them along with pulled pork, okra, toast, sausage and greens. The food was hot, well seasoned, and tasty. Well, what I was able to eat...I would give this restaurant 5 stars, but an employee threw away my blackened shrimp cheese fries when I got up to refill my drink. So I paid like 15 bucks for something I didn't even get to eat. If someone at the restaurant reads this then I would appreciate a refund on the food your employee tossed without telling me.
I ordered 3lb boiled crawfish. Asked for extra seasoning & definitely didn't have any seasoning on it at all. They seemed like yesterday's batch just dropped in hot water to warm. They were mushy & breaking I peeled one. They didn't look or taste purged.
Average BBQ. BBQ sauce is well flavored but flows like thick, cold corn syrup.
My first time here. In Mississippi for a game at MS. I honestly dont see how this spot is rated as " the best". This food was dreadful..no flavor, heavily FRIED and greasy. Hush puppies were sugary and onion rings were so greasy Iiterally tasted no onion.. catfish again no flavor. I was not even impressed. The shrimp also lacked flavor and had terrible batter.. They need to cook w/ more love. Season your food! This IS the south isn't it!
Wonderful pulled pork. Its been a few years since we've eaten there but the good was great. Service was quick considering how full the dining area was.
Great Food and atmosphere
We got catering at cannon ford of Starkville and let me tell you, the food was delicious!! Hayden was so nice as he and another person set up and Hayden came back and took everything down for us. I highly recommend them for any catering needs you have!!! DELICIOUS!!!!!

They were super nice. Excellent food and service. Don't order the Frozen Pina Colada Margarita. It's nasty tasting. Regular frozen Margarita is way too sweet.
The ribs were EXCELLENT!! Loved the corn salad, too! Glad this was our game day lunch stop
