We planned months in advance for college move-in day and reserved a room with this piece of trash hotel very far in advance of the date. When we arrived, they acknowledged we had reserved a room, but they had overbooked and we didn't have a room. They gave no other reason. They claimed they reserved a room for us in a nearby town - Columbus - but they lied and hadn't done it. What a piece of trash hotel who in effect spits on their customers. Here we were with restaurant reservations, a bunch of dorm furniture and all sorts of plans, and this hotel just ruined the whole experience. We'd stayed there about 7 times before. Never again. Don't ever trust this fraudulent, lying hotel.
Bistro never opens on time, even with the late hours since Covid they can’t seem to ever make it in by 630 and have even later hours on weekends. Not a hotel for those who work. Rooms always have broken fixtures or missing necessities. 3 out of the 4 people who work the front desk have the worst attitude and anything you ask of them is treated like a serious waste of their time.
Clean nice beds & hotel you can tell it’s older the bathroom had loose tile in a few spots somethings need updating it was ok for what it cost
Internet never worked even after spending a bunch of time on the phone with their help desk. They confirmed it was a hotel equipment issue but never fixed it during my stay. Also had exposed electrical wires hanging down from the desk light, which didn’t work. Didn’t have soap in my room and a few other minor annoyances.Just overall well below what you expect from this brand. I’d avoid it if possible. I sent a complaint in and a month later that gave me 5,000 points. So I’ve got 1/5 of one night towards a future stay going for me, which is nice.
Cons: The Internet doesn't work in some of the rooms, often the front desk is missing a person at check-in, and the shower pressure is pretty weak.Pros: Clean, friendly staff, covered parking, comfortable beds, walking distance to the university and restaurants.

Disappointed with this hotel twice in the past few months. In February my reservation was cancelled due to “overbooking” although my reservation had been made in July of 2021. I was notified of the cancellation 1 week prior by email. No compensation was offered but the manager was at least polite when I called to inquire. She told me that it was a Marriott issue and not specific to her location. This past weekend they charged me for a stay that had been cancelled the week before. I had to call twice to get any assistance. No one has called to apologize or notify me that the issue has been resolved but I do see the adjustment to my credit card statement online. While I do appreciate that the issue was resolved, I would expect some sort of apology for the inconvenience. We typically stay at Marriott properties but will be looking to stay elsewhere in Starkville in the future.
I checked in today Sunday May 1st at 6pm. The building is super clean, smelled awesome, great friendly staff. My meal was fresh, warm, and delicious
I purchased a $10 full breakfast when I reserved the room. I was told at breakfast this morning that was just a discount amount for the actually breakfast. I’m disappointed this deceptive practice is going on here. It’s not right, and think it should be removed from the reservation site.
Nice hotel. Clean and quite. Friendly staff. Fairly recent remodel with a modern look. No free breakfast but a bar in the lobby that serves a few breakfast and dinner choices at reasonable prices and of course, cocktails. Although the one breakfast I ordered was not very good. Eggs very under cooked and bacon very over cooked.Other nice ammenities include pool, hot tub, parking garage, guest laundry, fitness room and meeting room.Comfortable bed and pillows. TV has four channels of HBO. Plenty of USB charging ports in various places.King was $159 in March but got it for $103 with govenment rate although the taxes and fees bumped it to $113.Enjoyed my stay and would definately stay here again.
