Seriously Folks, when it comes to GLOBAL- CLASS dining there is a new admiral in Starkville! Before you even take your first sip of the expansive collection of bourbons, whiskeys, or second to none locally concocted expertly crafted cocktails the atmosphere welcomes you in as if you are returning to the dockside after day fishing off the coast of New England. Starkville and quite frankly MS rarely gets the privilege of enjoying a restaurant of this caliber. Let your mind enjoy my experience; although tempted to enjoy a Elmer T Lee 100yr whiskey, I started the evening with a spicy grapefruit margarita. Don’t let the name fool you, Parker put this together with the zest and tropical flavor of the expert bar tender he is. Yeah right up at the bar, great conversation as my next course is being prepared about eight feet away. The vibrant immersion into the experience of great conversation as my meal is being prepared in my peripheral vision was much like being at the chef’s table at Commander's Palace NOLA or Matt’s In the Market Seattle. Now on to a hearty soup to prepare my pallet for the best classic shrimp and grits I have ever experienced, all the while Brady is putting together the most delicious savory potatoes, I could not resist, I asked for a small side and he obliged- not to be missed if on the menu during your visit. Finally, let’s talk about the next great , and I mean GREAT pastry/dessert chef that will put all others from southeastern United States to shame. You must enjoy the inexplicably awesome desserts put together by the self taught Rain. Yes, just as rain nourishes the earth and brings forth joyful flavors and flowers to savor- Rain the chef will delight your pallet with rich chocolate confections in stark contrast to their underlying smattering of flavors. Finally, you must experience the carrot cake, like nothing you ever experienced. While it may seem far fetched, I will continue to make the journey from Dallas Texas to Starkville a few time a year to enjoy their restaurant and you should too.
Busy as heck place during graduation weekend but that means people know where to make the best rsvps for big occasions also I guess. Even so being a busy night, solo dining at the counter had its perks, got seated in minutes of walking in as others in pairs or more got turned away.I went with a double bone berkshire pork chop that was delicious. I got it with a double order of veggies which I did feel was a meager portion for doubling up but still, the quality and flavor was there for sure. Took a while for the order to come out after placing it as did my wine orders as well. The kitchen was slammed for sure but they did darn well to keep up for the most part.I got to meet the owner Brady Hindeman as well as he was in the kitchen himself helping lend a hand to the flow of things. Gotta appreciate and owner who gets his hands dirty to keep business going steady on busy nights.Prices are fair for the quality and service here, portions decent, speed a bit slow but typical for a packed house weekend as well.
Impressive lineup of Bourbon and cocktails that may want to rethink their approach. Packed house with one bartender. Our waiter struggled. Missed out on at least $25 worth of drinks ordered that they simply didn't bring and see probably another $40 on drinks that never ordered simply because drinks were taking 20-30 minutes to come out after ordered from our party. On to the food. Limited menu. 2 members ordered filets (medium/rare & Medium). Both came out well done. I had the pasta which I had no complaints about.Finished the night off with a warm Apple / Peach Cobbler which was told would be topped with Ice Cream. It instead came out topped with a strawberry puree which was interesting. Since dinner had already taken almost 2 hours we just ate it vs waiting for some ice cream.I think this place could be amazing for cocktails if properly staffed. From a food perspective apps is probably where they should stop in my opinion.
Great food and dining experience.
First time, great food and welcoming atmosphere
Great atmosphere and great food. The staff made sure we were taken care of from beginning to end.
We had a fantastic Sunday brunch. The flavors were savory, and the service was the best in town.
Dana and I went to Commodore Bob's Yacht Club for the first time last night to celebrate her birthday. We were very impressed! It was AWESOME! Fun, relaxing atmosphere with excellent food and excellent service. Dion and Parker really made the night special for us. We can't wait to go back!
