My Fajitas veggies were not done. The chicken was dry and we had nothing but beans and rice. Nothing else to put in the flour tortillas. It came to the table not sizzling and in 5 minutes after we ordered. My husband was not asked for another drink and we were not asked for dessert. The ticket was put on the table before we were ready. We were being herded out as fast as they could get us out the door. Our wait time for our table was only 10 minutes, so they were not that busy. Not the relaxing evening I had in mind.
Friendly staff! Very nice space for party... Maybe a little bigger... But great
Great service and outdoor setup! The drinks were great, but the food could use some sprucing. Had the quesadilla burger and it was sooo bland. Had to use the salsa from the chips to give it flavor. To help with the dish, seasoning the meat is necessary, but adding Mexi-Ranch or SOMETHING) to the quesadilla burger would make it top notch.Dakota was a wonderful waiter, though!
I had their two specialty tacos with brisket and refried beans. They were delicious. The waiter was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was inviting and relaxed.
First time eating here, but was highly recommended. If you like Tex-Mex then Sombra is the place for you. It was busy, Sunday lunch crowd, but we were sat within 10 minutes. Our waitress was quick and friendly. Now to the food. The salsa is thick and chunky, not pureed and thin (I prefer the pureed option) but is was very good. The queso was good as well, also had chunks of peppers in it. The chips were perfect, seasoned and crispy. I had a burrito bowl which was fabulous. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we look forward to returning.
This place is not very good. Broccoli was clearly frozen, not fresh. It was cold, mooshy and tasted old. Rice didn’t taste right. Beans were ok. Tacos were below average and burnt. Shocked at the high ratings it gets.
Great atmosphere. Amazing staff. Tortilla soup had great flavor and presentation. Was a bit thinner consistency than I'm use to with tortilla soup, but still good. Taco salad was huge portion and had amazing dressing and fresh ingredients. Chips amd salad were definately gome made and tasy
I've dined at Sombra on several occasions. The location allows for great visibility off Highland Parkway and parking g is plentiful. The menu is a varied array of Mexican Food with excellent service.
Poor customer service given directly by management. Visited Sombra Tuesday 11/23/21, at 6:30p initial party size was 4. After we were seated we learned we had 1 additional guest joining last minute. Spoke with the hostess ans asked if we could be moved to a table for 5. The manager came over about 5 minutes later and told us he could offer us the following; the one additional person could sit at the 4 chair table that was behind us or if we wanted a table where all of us could sit together we would have to leave our table, go back up front, sign back in, and wait behind all the other guests who were waiting to be seated. I didn’t quite understand the logic behind this blatant lack of service so I repeated it to be sure I understood his options. He said I was correct so we politely declined and asked for our check for the soft drinks and drink purchased as it was apparent Sombra did not want us to patronage their business. Very disappointing experience as we are from out of state visiting family over the holidays. I will tell everyone and anyone asking for a restaurant reference this is definitely not the place spend your money. The manager was oh so happy to see us leave.
Great fajitas and good drinks. Service is typically good and it helps if you look at the menu before you go so you're ready to make quick selections.
