We’ve been going to Amerigo’s Dogwood location weekly since moving to the area three years ago from Bay Saint Louis. It’s our favorite restaurant in central Mississippi. The food is consistently good, prices are reasonable and, thanks to Ms Debbie, the service is the best.
It was a nice and clean place we had dinner in we did it for an early Mother's Day gift from my husband and my two nieces we had an awesome time our server name was Clifton and he was an awesome man and an awesome server and we thanked him for what he did. I had baked string beans and mashed potatoes and we had some different cheeses and some just different vinaigrette oil everything was delicious.
This was our first time eating at this restaurant. We searched online for a five star restaurant Found one and drove 3 1/2 hours to the city of Jackson for another honeymoon date. We were thoroughly surprised, surprised, and surprised. In addition to the feeling of being tremendously pleased with the ambiance, the presentation of the food, our options of selections from the menu; Our wait-person Jordan was very knowledgeable of palatable choices that were exceedingly satisfying. The portions of foods were filling and appealing in prices.
After picking up a friend from the airport, we drove to Amerigo's for dinner. It was our first time there but we chose it because of it's proximity to the airport plus they advertised vegan and gluten free options and we remembered that our friend had some special eating requirements. WOW! It was a great choice and we will go there again and again!! We were greeted and seated quickly. They don't take reservations but in this case we didn't have to wait. We arrived mid week about 6 pm. The atmosphere is nice. A bit on the dark side for reading menus for us over 50 people but hey... we had phones with lights. LOL Two of us had salads. They were HUGE and delicious! One had Chicken Acuto (grilled chicken breasts, black bean salsa, grilled artichokes, green beans and spicy olive oil with lemon cilantro and herbs.) I tasted it and found no spice at all which suits me very well. Then, although we don't usually indulge, we had dessert. The key lime pie was excellent. I'm a texture eater and that pie was so creamy and the flavor was just right - not over powering like some key lime pies are. We also had a chocolate brownie with ice cream and caramel and a cheesecake slice with strawberry sauce. YUM, YUM, YUM! I thought prices were reasonable for the quantity of food provided (and taking into consideration these difficult inflationary, tough to get some supplies kind of times in which we are living) . The staff members we encountered couldn't have been nicer. The place was clean and the atmosphere was inviting! Hope y'all have the same kind of experience if you choose to go there.
We were able to have our meal during their early bird time. Sizes are supposed to be smaller than the regular ones but you won't miss much. We ordered the salmon which was cooked just perfect. We had the calamari appetizer early bird as well and the house wine. You can't beat the price and good food you get. This is our 2nd time here and was just as good as the 1st time.
The food here is delicious! For appetizers we had the Calamari and Fried cheese balls. Both were excellent. We had Blackened Chicken with Cheese Tortellini and I think the other dish was Grilled Chicken Breast over angel hair pasta with a garlic butter sauce. Both dishes were excellent as well. If you're in the mood for some good Italian food give them a try.
First time visiting. The place was packed. Had to wait 40 minutes to be seated, expecting a longer time but not too bad. Our server was amazing. We had the cheese fritters for an appetizer and they were delicious. I had the Cannelloni Al Forno and I swear the earth stopped moving. It was a flavor explosion that I was not prepared for. When I return I cannot imagine ordering anything else. It was phenomenal. My wife had the Fettuccine Imperial and she loved it. Usually we skip dessert but we had to try the Pecan Butter Crunch Cake... so glad we did. It was the perfect exclamation on a fantastic meal. We cannot wait to return.
Can't go wrong at Amerigo. Always gotta get the cheese fritters every visit. This visit we also had a crab cake app that was really good. The entrees we ordered were the veal picatta and 3 cheese tortellini with crab meat. Both were amazing as expected. Looking forward to eating here again soon.
We went for a romantic dinner with friends and Amerigos gave us just that. The ambiance was great and the service and food were wonderful. My favorite is always the crab cakes
Food has no flavor, drowning in oil, pasta WAY overcooked and thrown together. We ordered the shrimp scampi and shrimp and grits. I mean it was absolutely nasty. Myself or any of my family could eat it, and we paid so much for it. The customer service was the only good thing, very nice. But the food was awful.?
