This is a very interesting place and in my opinion a must visit. You can feel the history of this place.. A dark character filled cellar on the back side and under a popular restaurant that once entertained people like Elvis Presley. Cozy and unique.. A solid variety of beers and liquor. This place is a hidden gem. Live music on some nights including an open Mike on Wednesdays. It's the kind of place you want to come sit for a while hangout, relax. and have good conversation.
Love this place. Been there several times. Crowd is made up of locals and visitors. Very friendly. Non smoking. You can bring drinks outside to smoke. Wednesday nights are fun.
One of the most wholesome bars I’ve ever been to with great service. Great if you're not in the mood to deal with large crowds. My wife is a big Elvis Presley fan and evidently this is a bar he frequented regular when in Mississippi. I met Bird (maybe spelled Byrd), who was bartending at the time, and we got some history and insight as to where Elvis sat, his favorite drink, etc. Best of all, it felt like I was at home speaking to the bartender at my regular go-to bar. If you’re ever in this area, check it out. As a bonus, it has a great view of the bayou!
The food and the presentation was below average for the price. The seafood was bland and the sauces were awful! I don’t think anything was made from scratch, except the twice baked potato. Gumbo was good.
Great music and cold beer you always get both right here on Wednesday night open jam night
Favorite bar to relax. If you don't want loud, obnoxious crowds, while you wait 20 minutes on a drink order... this is the spot.Besides the history and beauty of the area, cool clientele, reasonable priced drinks, always fun.
Had a great time last night. The band my grandson is in played there and three other bands.loved it so much. Could enjoy the evening because you can't smoke in the julep room.. WOO HOO...
Songwriters place. Great wed nite open mic.
We arrived early on a Saturday at about 5:30pm. We ordered an yster appetizers that I think was around $18 and when it arrived it was ONLLY six oysters and at that price I was expecting a dozen However, they were excellent. We are not drinkers so the 55 minutes it took our food to arrive seemed like an eternity and were told it was "becasue our order was behind a party of 14. Well if taking a large party negatively impacts al your other customers you might want to think about limiting the sizes of parties you accept.
This is a place every Elvis fan must visit!
