Great food and amazing service from a friendly staff-- this is now our go-to place. Don't let the unassuming storefront fool you--this is the real deal, and once you step inside, you'll see why. There are so many great rolls to choose from, or if you prefer, the chef will make a custom roll just for you with your favorites. And don't forget to check out the rest of the menu too with bento boxes and pho noodle soups. So yummy!
We enjoyed the best food AND service tonight as our party of nine celebrated my daughter’s 17th birthday. Food was perfectly prepared and served with minimal wait time. I was very impressed at how quickly the kitchen and the sushi chef were completing orders with a full dining room and a constant stream of to-go orders being picked up. I was even more impressed with both of our servers who attended to all our needs with genuine care and friendliness. They took extra care to make my birthday girl feel special.

the best sushi on the coast! Everyone working there is extremely friendly. It's a hidden gem and I'm really happy we tried it for my birthday dinner. Also, they have a rewards program.
Been here multiple times and I absolutely love it! The service is amazing, the sushi and bento boxes are wonderfully prepared, and It’s just a great place to go if you’re craving some good food!
Awesome sushi super fresh and beautifully prepared. The waitress was SO great and helpful with my food allergies. She read the ingredients on all the food I ate and made me feel taken care of. So if anyone has gluten and dairy allergies this is for sure your sushi destination!!! Also the plum wine is delicious!!!!

EXCELLENT food and even better service. The quality of other Japanese restaurants on the coast have been going down but Hatsukoi maintained their very high standards. The sushi and bento boxes are particularly good. Highly recommend.
Food was fresh and awesome. Waitstaff was very pleasant and enjoyable, can’t wait to go back. Would definitely recommend to everyone.
I was missing Chef Scott (had to close due to family emergency) and he recommended Hatsukoi to all his former customers. I was not disappointed!It is a fully family run restaurant and they are so welcoming! The food is amazing and beautifully plated. Chef Scott would be proud. Malynda, (host, server, more....) is very attentive and sweet, we just love her!
