We arrived at nearly 9pm on a Thursday evening and the place was hopping! They have live music on Thursday nights. The band was good. The food was really good too. My friend and I shared appetizers. The BBQ pork quesadillas were excellent! My friend said the onion rings were the best she's ever had - the batter tasted so light. I had been here with my sister when passing through years ago. It's a good 15 minutes from the interstate, but it's worth the extra time to get there.
The food was entirely mediocre with the exception of the okra which was excellent. Pulled pork was dry and sauce was ok.

I’d first like to say how nice the employees were here. When we walked in the door we were greeted warmly by the young lady behind the bar. She also spoke as we were leaving. Our sever was also a very nice young man and very pleasant and accommodating. The restaurant also seemed clean. Now for the food. I just knew this was going to be delicious food but that was not the case. I ordered the bone in chicken. It tasted okay but was pretty dry until you got past the top layer. I just kept dipping it in BBQ sauce which I’ll have to say was good. My sides were not good at all. Potato salad tasted like it came out of a container off of a truck. I had asked if they made it in-house and was told they did. It did not taste like it. Beans were not tasty either. My husband had the ribs. I tasted them and I thought they were a lot better than my chicken. He had ordered roasted potatoes. When they were served, he said they tasted old and they looked it. They sent him some more. They were exactly the same. He then got fried okra. It was way overdone. I think if I had a customer who had sent back food twice, I would make sure if I sent something else out I’d prepared it would be right. It was freshly cooked as it was very hot but it was almost burned. We really wanted to like our food but it just did not happen. It was not just one or two things. It was almost everything. This had a really good rating. I wish it had been better but it just wasn’t.
Look up top 10 places to eat in Meridian, but the food was sad, cold par boiled ribs, peas full of vinegar, and smoked chicken dry and uneatable. Server on the other hand was extremely nice.

We took our kids and grandkids to eat while visiting for a golf tournament. They were short staffed which is understandable in this day and time and we were very patient with the waitress. She was doing her best. The food on the other hand, the pork skins were over cooked and not edible.
